Clean hotel. Poor breakfast.
The staff at reception spoke great English and seemed friendly, always acknowledging us as we arrived and left.
Breakfast was a letdown. The pastries were stale. The milk was sweetened and tasted horrible, meaning I couldn’t have cereal. The water machine was challenging to use. The lady running the service was friendly. I felt for her with the poor quality foods.

Positive surprise!
In the end, however, I went along with it and was pleasantly surprised throughout.
My room was a bit small and without frills (which one cannot expect otherwise at that price), but it was clean and, above all, equipped with a functioning air conditioning system. The bed was also comfortable, although it was a bit close to the door.
It was a bit unfortunate that the cup provided in the bathroom was just a simple plastic cup. A proper glass would have been nicer here.
Where I cannot understand the many negative reviews at all is regarding the staff. At the reception, all employees were exceptionally friendly, attentive, and customer-oriented.
The breakfast is simple, but there is coffee, fruit, juices, croissants, yogurt, etc. Not spectacular or high-class, but that is not unusual in Italy either.
All in all, I would definitely recommend the hotel and would book it again. Given the low price, one should not expect luxury, but rather a solid hotel that adequately covers the most important requirements - and that was exactly the case here!

Negative experience – attempts to change the booking
Unfortunately my experience was negative for the management of the reservation. In the days prior to the stay, the property tried several times to cancel the reservation or apply a rate increase, probably related to the period of the Salone del Mobile.
Upon arrival I was told that there were no more rooms available and they tried to make me change the structure. Only after insisting and arguing with the staff (not always courteous), suddenly my room was available.
This type of behavior is not acceptable and creates strong discomfort to the customer.
Would not recommend it.

I don't know how they get away with this kind of service
We drove from Geneva to Milan, arriving on 30 August slightly before the 2 pm check-in time. As expected, we couldn’t check in early. However, upon arrival, we were informed that one of our reserved rooms was unavailable for the first night. Instead, we were given a replacement room on level 2, while our friends in the other room were on level 4.
The substitute room was extremely disappointing; it looked like a makeshift setup with a metal-framed bed and a thin ribbed mattress. We had to use the duvet padding to make it remotely comfortable, and the room itself was so cramped that we could hardly move around. (I’ve attached photos comparing the proper room on level 4 with the much smaller replacement on level 2.) To make matters worse, the towels provided were ripped, and the shower door was both narrow and broken. Thankfully, for the second night, we were moved to a proper room on the same floor as our friends.
Parking was another headache. The underground car park had very low clearance, and since we had a 4WD with overhead storage, it took nearly an hour to resolve the issue and find a workable solution.
Breakfast was included in our package, but since we had to leave at 6:15 am the next morning, we requested a takeaway breakfast box. The afternoon shift staff member (I believe his name was Florentine) flatly refused, saying it wasn’t his problem that we were leaving early.
Overall, the service and facilities were far below what you’d expect in one of Italy’s major cities. This is very much a budget hotel, but with a price tag that doesn’t match the quality. Unless you have absolutely no other option, I would strongly recommend avoiding this hotel.
