The palace among graffiti

Rosanna who was one of the servers at breakfast who made me give this hotel a higher rating. She was attentive and remembered our coffee order each morning. Breakfast was good with a nice selection. The salon where they do breakfast and drinks, is breathtaking and really why you would choose this hotel. They offered daily food that was traditional to the region. The shower doors for our room were annoying because they frequently leaked water on the floor. The WiFi was inconsistent. The room was spacious and when we chose housekeeping they were attentive. The graffiti that surrounded this area upon arriving is shocking but we felt safe. Especially in comparison to other parts of Naples. AC was strong and service at the front desk depended on who was most in a good mood. Regardless, everyone helped.

Staff was super. Recommend taxi from ferry if you have luggage. Hotel close to many good restaurants, very walkable shopping , market area.

Quite a charming approach to hospitality?

The hotel is located in an authentic neighborhood. The room was okay, but poorly lit. The bathroom had too few hooks for towels and other items, and the shower is too small for tall people. I am 6'3" and rather slim, but I still found it difficult to move around inside the shower. The toilet seat was wobbly, and twice during our five-day stay we had to ask for toilet paper; it seems to be treated like gold dust in Italy. We also expected more from the breakfast based on the rave reviews we had read. The breakfast room itself is quite nice, with its high ceiling and wall paintings, but the breakfast was somewhat underwhelming. The croissants and pastries looked and tasted dry, the juice selection was essentially a sugar fest, and the cappuccinos were, frankly, not the best we have ever had in Italy. They also charge extra for a glass of orange juice (€3.50) and an omelet (€6), which is rather surprising for a self-proclaimed four-star hotel. Another oddity was that we could not use the stairs to get from the second floor, where our room was located, to the ground floor, where the reception is, because the staircase ended on the first floor. On one occasion, the lift was out of order, so we had to wait in the lobby until it was working again before we could get back to our room. Strange. The staff were friendly and helpful though, hence four stars.

Fabulous from top to bottom

The hotel was beautiful. A gorgeous oasis of calm in a vibrant and exciting historic centre of Naples. Lovely welcoming reception. Beautiful decor and architecture. The breakfast room is a stunningly gorgeous mirrored ballroom with exquisite chandeliers and frescoes and ceiling out of this world. Breakfast itself was divine.
The bedroom was perfect - we had a family room for three people - massive king sized bed and single bed for our son. Very clean throughout - lovely bathroom.
All the staff were charming and could not do enough for you - in a gentle, quiet way!
Very good value for an elegant 4 star hotel.
I recommend the Decumani Hotel and loved Naples itself.

Peace and tranquility in busy Naples

The Hotel was a haven of cool, peace and tranquility after the hustle and bustle of the streets in Naples. Centrally located but surprisingly lovely and quiet inside. The terrace was a lovely spot, and the breakfast dining room was sumptious.
