Simpatico with the capital 'S'.
We clearly did the cook (mom) a great favor by asking for verdure cotte, her homemade Bunèt (the ultimate Piedmontese dessert) was really delicious.
If you are in the area around 12:30, don't hesitate for a moment!

To be avoided
Once in the very spacious room I encounter cobwebs with spiders attached, a greasy and dusty hob and wads of dust on the table. In the bathroom towels for showering non-existent, used shower gel. The only positive note was the comfortable mattress. In the morning at check out we find no one at reception, on the sofa at the entrance there was the same lady who made us wait outside the day before and instead of calling someone from the staff she remained blissfully sitting looking at her cell phone leaving us waiting again. As far as I'm concerned, and I'm not one for high demands, customer attention and cleanliness have not been achieved. Not recommended

A real italian spirit!!!
The hotel is located in a small settlement called Roddino, a few kilometers from Alba (approximately 20), in the heart of the Langhe region.
It is a historic house built on small hill in XIX century, which, after a careful restoration has preserved its original features of the typical farm in Langhe region.
This was my second stay in Cascina Ricca. First time I spent few weekends in October while I was studying in Turin, and together with my classmates we decided to visit Alba during a truffle festival. We were advised by friends to stay at some small farm houses. We came across Cascina Ricca on the official website of Alba city.
I really enjoyed my stay at Cascina Ricca first time so I decided to return there for my winter holidays.
The rooms are very cozy, clean and homelike. We had small TV with some international channels, small bathrooms with showers and clean towels changed every day. I had a great view to the valley from my balcony. The staff is very friendly; they have English speaking personnel as well.
The food is very tasty and cheap, and most important it is healthy and does not make you feel guilty even if you have gone to another portion of pasta or ravioli.
The main feature of the hotel is that it is also a pizzeria and almost every evening we were enjoying ourselves with just cooked hot oven pizzas.
It is really affordable to stay at the hotel and in Alba in general and one can spend a full holiday there alone, with friends or with a family even on a tight budget, as room prices are not high for both single and double rooms.
I really enjoyed my stay at this hotel and hardly wait for my next vacation to go back to Italy.
