Lovely Stay in Rome

I have so many wonderful things to say about Hotel Damaso and would highly recommend it to anyone traveling to Rome.
The staff was absolutely lovely, the breakfast was delicious, the location couldn’t be better, and the hotel itself has so much charm and character. Be sure to visit the little rooftop terrace! I believe it opens as a bar later in the day. I never made it up there in the evening, but I loved taking my coffee up in the early morning and enjoying the beautiful views over Rome.
We spent a few days in Rome at both the beginning and end of our trip to Italy. We stayed at Hotel Damaso at the beginning, and at the end we stayed at a more modern, upscale hotel that cost nearly twice as much. Given the choice, I would choose Hotel Damaso again, hands down.

Family travel

Hotel Damaso is a great place to stay. Within walking distance to many sites including Campo de Fiori, which is around the corner. Not to mention a drinking fountain right in front of the hotel. Very cordial and attentive staff, great breakfast along with a rooftop terrace bar.
Would recommend to those who enjoy walking around the city.

Top location with top service!

Great Stay!!!
The staff was fantastic, the breakfast excellent and the rooftop bar was the perfect Place to relax. I Will be back!

Our second stay in the rooftop terrace room 701 and it is so lovely. Too hot to spend much time on the balcony but you do get a feel of being right in amongst it looking out over the rooftops of central Rome. Superb breakfast too, a shame this room doesn't open through the day as it has a fully stocked bar, in this heatwave the roof bar was just too warm. Another delightful stay,grazie mille!!

Service is good but poor hospitality from the manager

Great location and hotel is clean with a lot of AC especially during this heatwave in Rome right now. Breakfast was good and the servers were really nice, definitely appreciated them for welcoming.
The main complaint I have is the bald guy with the suit & red tie at the front, which I think is the manager. I hope he’s reading this. He barely says hi and doesn’t felt like welcoming. My wife tried to say hi to him, but he barely could make eye contact & mumbled hi back. We would come back from going outside but doesn’t make eye contact nor does he says hello at all.
I brushed it off and thought he was just shy. However, I was observing when he interacted with other guests, and his eyes seem more lively along with being welcoming. I wouldn’t typically write this review, but it’s unsettling for my wife & I especially during our honeymoon. We’re both Asian, and I notice there’s a a distinct way he interacts with us vs. other non-Asian guests (I’ll leave it to your imagination). Would recommend this hotel if it wasn’t this situation.
