Lovely hotel just outside of sorento

Amazing hotel with lovely staff. The hotel is just outside of sorento (roughly 15-20 mins walk or a 10 minute bus journey) making the ideal place to avoid the busy crowds. All the Staff were amazing and always a delight to speak too, they even gave us some cake for my boyfriends birthday, aswell as bringing us beach towels when they realised we didn't have any by the pool. Another great thing was how quiet the pool area was and how close of a walk it was to the nearest beach meaning we could still enjoy the sea but not have to deal with sorentos busy beache's. The rooms were cleaned everyday and the views from our balcony were lovely as we were facing a lemon garden. If I was to come to sorento again I would 100% stay here and was great value for money. Thankyou very much for the lovely stay!

SCAM… Not a 4* Hotel. It’s AWFUL.

We booked last minute to stay in Sorrento and booked a family room for 4.
The first thing to note is the photos of the hotel and it’s communal areas on hotel.com are VERY generous… they do not accurately represent the hotel itself and I’d suggest they employed an excellent photographer with a good editing suite or have used AI to enhance them. The photos bare little resemblance to the grubby, dated hotel you are presented with upon arrival. THIS IS NOT A 4* HOTEL… maybe a 2* at best.
Secondly, the photos of the rooms must be of a different hotel as we had 3 rooms in total and none looked anything like those in the pictures.
The first room was a double bed and two singles, cramped in tight. The wallpaper was ripped, hanging off the walls and the entire room, its furnishings, the bathroom were tired, grubby and dated… again baring no resemblance to the photos on the hotel.com website.
They then moved us to 2 rooms and split us up, expecting us to stay a week as a family in 2 seperate rooms.
The rooms were better, but still bad. Apparently these ones had ‘new bathrooms’, but had clearly just had a quick lick of paint as they were dated and grubby, just like the rest of the hotel. The wallpaper again was ripped but this time, they had taken the effort to tape it to the wall with masking tape.
The beds are hard and uncomfortable.
I also had the privilege of being able to listen to the gentleman in the next room’s bowel movements throughout the night… which was nice.
The photos of the rooms make them look big, spacious and modern… DO NOT BE FOOLED.
Aside from all this, it’s bang next to a train track where the trains rattle by all day and well in to the night and whilst it’s on a side street, the traffic noise from the scooters going passed manage to permeate through the glazing all night. I finally managed to get to sleep around 3am.
The pool is also dirty and overcrowded.
We tried to ask for a refund so we could move to somewhere more suitable after it became apparent they had accepted our booking under false pretences and were unable to fulfil our requirements to the standards advertised on hotel.com however they refused point blank.
We spoke to hotel.com who were polite but no use.
It is worth mentioning the lady who checked us in was more than helpful and very polite. But her hands were tied and couldn’t do anything for us.
We left after the first night and suffered the £1700 hit to stay somewhere nicer as we couldn’t spend a week in this hovel, split in 2 rooms, having to parent one child each as we couldn’t be together as a family.

The hotel was clean and pleasant but very basic. The breakfast was poor. Parking near the hotel was convenient.

NOT A 4* HOTEL… 2* IS GENEROUS.
First thing to note… the photos and description of this hotel are far from accurate.
The listing looks impressive, we were looking forward to staying… then we got there.
On check-in, we were greeted by a friendly lady who, to be fair to her did everything she could to help us.
The hotel looked grotty and a bit untidy, but they were in the middle of cleaning it.
We were showed to our room… the website has no photos that resemble the room we were shown. Presumably this room had been previously occupied by prisoners, who had been upgraded to a cell in the local area.
It was awful.
Cramped, dated, mouldy, dingy, torn wallpaper. They expected a family of 4 of us to stay in this for a week.
We immediately complained and said we’d stay the night, but wanted to leave tomorrow.
We were refused a refund.
We were offered ‘better’ rooms. They couldn’t accommodate us as a family so split us in to 2 rooms.
These were better, but bad still. Ripped wallpaper patched with pins and masking tape, rusty fittings, mouldy, uncovered electrics, foul smells, thin walls (could hear the bloke in the next room taking a dump)… then the trains rattling past from dawn till dusk every 20 mins.
The pool and communal areas were overcrowded and dirty.
We left after the first night… it was so bad that even though we were refused a refund and hotels.com did nothing to help, we’d rather lose the £1800 than stay another night in this HOLE.

Hotel Club Sorrento - 1 week stay

We wanted a quick bonus holiday at short notice and found that the Sorrento area fitted the bill nicely, so booked the Hotel Club Sorrento.
The hotel is about 30 mins walk from the town of Sorrento, but the easiest way to get to town is by train, (one stop, cost 1.50 euros). Buses are available too, just on the main road a short walk away. The train seemed more efficient though.
The hotel is family run and the proprietor Luigi is really nice and helpful, providing local information. There are other friendly staff too. Rooms are basic, but ok, though beds are quite hard. We stayed on a half board basis: breakfast is a buffet and evening meals are very good and tasty with a small choice you select at breakfast in advance. Beware, the starters are huge! Desserts are basic though and disappointing.
There is a nice swimming pool outside and a roof terrace which in July was rather hot and not really of any use as there are no canopies to provide any shade.
This hotel is really useful as a base to explore the area. The area in which it is situated, Sant'Agnello is actually quite historic and has some interesting buildings
