A relaxing weekend surrounded by greenery ☀️
Friendly, kind and caring staff. Room well equipped, clean and heated. Great for a weekend, with your own pet.

Nice experience in Spoleto
Villa Redenta top...
First time in Spoleto, we stayed here and we really enjoyed it, we were greeted by Mrs. Natalia, who seemed to know us for some time... fabulous....
Very large room, large, spacious, bright and super clean, overlooking the park located inside the villa, nothing short of beautiful, with ancient remains and ancient trees...
In the morning we were served a breakfast nothing short of spectacular, homemade cakes, pies, apple pie, donut and hot croissants baked at the moment... toast and sandwiches......... what a goodness!!!!!
If you pass through Spoleto I recommend staying here....

All very well
Clean hostel. Friendly and welcoming staff (it is run by a women's cooperative). Exquisite dinner: Spoleto-style strangozzi, Barolo braised meat with roast potatoes, tiramisu. Top breakfast, savory and sweet. Advised.

Of Spoleto nobility
From our accommodation we could see a villa in the distance surrounded by a high stone wall after a little research I discovered it was Villa Redenta, I decided we should check it out. The villa and gardens are recorded to have been built on the remains of a Roman villa, the villa over the years has been occupied by nobility and clergy, now-a-days it is the 'Music and Opera Production Centre '.
Entrance to the villa and gardens are free, we wandered around the gardens which was reasonably kept, cut grass, contains a centuries old cedar from Lebanon and scattered around the garden are late Roman and early middle age ruins.
I wouldn't put the Villa high on a list of priorities when visiting Spoleto but this was our second long stay in Spoleto and we were looking for new and interesting things to visit.

Close to the train station but far from the main sights
It's only a short walk from the train station (but finding the place is not easy). To cover Spoleto's main sights, you will need to take the bus from the station which is what I did. The setting is quite amazing--the Villa Redenta is set in a park which dates back to the Renaissance. You can be alone here for hours, especially at dusk, when visitors, not staying at the hotel, have to leave.
I asked for a single but got a large room with a double bed and a single bed for the same price. The manager didn't specify which bed I should sleep in, so I chose the double. When it was time to check out, the woman--a different one--at the desk made a huge fuss and tried to charge me for a double room. We argued--pretty ineffectually since she didn't speak any English and I no Italian--until
she conceded defeat.
The hotel provides a meagre breakfast and the reception is open only at certain hours (which can be inconvenient). I requested a fan, otherwise I would have had to sweat it out.
There's not a lot to do in Spoleto. I was there to see the Fra Lippo Lippi frescoes in the duomo
and visit some of the churches (one built with columns and arches from ancient Roman buildings). Later I took a train to nearby Spello to see the magnificent Pinturucchio paintings (not to be missed, if you love art). It's only a short train ride to Rome, so you could visit Spoleto during a day trip.
