an oasis of peace and an ideal starting point to visit the Southern Ionian Calabria

Not far from the Ionian coast of Riace, Caulonia and Roccella, in a large natural estate largely cultivated, stands the structure of the Agriturismo Simonello, able to offer simple but perfect hospitality. The main building comprises, on two floors, clean and functional rooms with air conditioning and balconies with views; the ground floor is largely used as a dining and lounge area. We enjoyed the hearty sweet and savory breakfast, rich in products of the house and the territory: citrus fruits and juices, freshly picked figs from the tree, jams, cakes and pies, cold cuts and eggs, bread and extra virgin olive oil. On the estate you can walk pleasantly among olive, orange and fig trees, or relax reading a book in the shade of the canopies of smaller buildings: relaxation in nature guaranteed.
The attentive presence and kindness of the owner, Mrs. Laura, do the rest: a valuable source of information to learn about the proposed foods (I shared the preparation of dried figs stuffed with walnuts and almonds), but also available to tell the territory and direct excursions to known or even unusual places, with charm to be discovered.
It is worth visiting the surrounding areas: it ranges from the beautiful seaside resorts of the Ionian coast -the marinas of Riace, Roccella, Caulonia and Gioiosa - to the villages clinging to the Aspromonte park, such as the beautiful Gerace, located on a narrow edge of rock, rich in history and fine architecture or Caulonia Superiore, similar to a stronghold, with the ancient village formed by an interweaving of narrow alleys.
RECAP: at Simonello, despite the heat of August, we could find what we wanted: relax in simplicity, regenerate and also recover our strength to visit those places that are beautiful photo shoots in all seasons of the year, especially in spring.

Corner of tranquility between sea and nature

I spent a few days at this farm and it was just a pleasant surprise. Framed by fields of olive and citrus trees, it is ideal for relaxing and being in touch with the fragrant and authentic nature of Calabria. Owner very friendly and welcoming that makes you feel immediately at home, simple but clean rooms, great location also to reach the sea and all the picturesque villages of Locride. I recommend it

Excellent location for a tour of the various villages in the area. Clean and comfortably equipped room. Kind owner. Immersed in the countryside. A good breakfast full of many good things

Relax among orchards and olive groves

The farmhouse is a quiet, welcoming and well-kept place, where you can relax and even walk. It is close to both the sea and the mountains and places of historical and archaeological interest. The rooms are spacious, spotlessly clean and equipped with everything you need. Mrs. Laura, very nice and highly cultured, is very available to recommend the best itineraries and interesting places in the beautiful region.

Enjoyable Vacation

I spent one week with my family at this farmhouse. There were five of us in total.
The bedrooms at Agriturismo Simonello were very nice, clean, and comfortable.
The dining room provided excellent service, delicious food, and large portions.
The staff was friendly and helpful.
It is located close to a beautiful free beach.
The beach was not overcrowded.
The farm house is nice and peaceful except for the owner's dogs. They were a little too close to the house so I could hear all the barking. It would be perfect if the dogs were kept a little further away.
Overall, it was a great experience. I would definitely go back and I would recommend it to others.
