Great value stay in the heart of Trieste

The property is located in the heart of Trieste. It's literally 5 minutes to the Piazza Unita d'Italia as well as the Grand Canal, about 8 minutes stroll to Trieste Railway Station / Bus Station / PAM Supermarket (I recommend the latter of one would like to cut on restaurants and enjoy typical Italian foods in comfort of one's room). The Affittacamere San Lazzaro is an old flat with each room is essentially a unit rented out. The owners' compartment seems to be down the corridor, but that's just an assumption. The owner was very welcoming and helpful, spoke reasonable English. The flat itself features no kitchen facility. However, there is an electric kettle and a fridge in the room, which comes useful in case you'd like to keep yogurts for breakfast. Tea and sugar are provided by the property owner. Last but not least - the bathroom is great, soap, shower gel and shampoo are provided. Hairdryer is also supplied for the room. All in all, I highly recommend this property, particularly for solo travellers. My own experience was very positive, and I'll consider staying here again.

Not recommended!

That's bad! An hour before my arrival he cancelled my reservation. Perhaps a communication call and apology would also have been appreciated. Upon my arrival I call him and very rudely tells me that Booking had written to me and that I had to look for another place. It put me in great difficulty. Very not recommended!

BAD DO NOT BOOK!

Arrogance and rudeness of the owner. He treated us badly from the first moment by closing the door in our face. Back after 40 minutes we knocked on the door and he opened SHOUTING US because it was not allowed. In 4 days the common bathroom with 3 rooms was never cleaned and towels were never changed or the basket emptied in the room. EVERYTHING IS BAD. It only saves the position.

Terrible

Terrible human quality (bis).
I have to confirm what was written in the last review.
We called the owner to be able to leave our luggage a couple of hours before the time (set by him of 3.30 pm), given that our flight arrived in Trieste at 10 am, but we were curtly told to leave them at the station.
We subsequently called to confirm but we were given the opportunity to enter even after the agreed time
The room (without air conditioning, and very hot) had no air conditioning, also had a shared bathroom (which I was unaware of) and was never tidied up in the 5 days we stayed.
The shared bathroom for 3 rooms was often occupied and very dirty in the second part of the day.
The owner lives inside the apartment, and sometimes it was he who occupied the bathroom.
In any case, an experience not to be repeated.

OK apartment in the center of Trieste

The experience was not good! First of all, there is no A/C and there was +30 degrees in Trieste. It was like sleeping in the Sauna. Also the room was dark and not as in the pictures. The view from the room was towards neighbours wall, and to the street (ok, but I thought it would have been better). Person who gave us the keys, was nice and helpful. The apartment location is good, in the center.
