Between art, patina and sea

The Hotel Mignon in Trieste is certainly not a perfect, scruffy-modern hotel — and that’s exactly what makes it unique for me. The house is noticeably old, but just this feeling is beautiful. It has soul, character and its own poetry, far from mainstream, hotel chains and interchangeable perfection.
The owner is a true artist. Everywhere in the house you discover treasures large and small, lovingly selected details, special objects and an atmosphere that you cannot stage. You don’t just live here — you dive into a world of your own.
My room had a balcony with stunning sea views. The port of Grignano is literally at your feet, and the location is a dream at all: Situated right next to Miramare Castle, two excellent restaurants in just one minute walk — it’s hard to beat more beautifully.
Those who love the individual, who value patina more than perfection and who have a sense of art, character and special places will love this hotel. For me, the Hotel Mignon is a real gem for art-savvy people. A unique place with great value for money.

AVOID - worst hotel you can stay in

Hotel Mignon is a terrible hotel. We booked through booking.com and never got any type of reply from the property. It's a run down hotel. We got a tiny room with a window - that doesn't have a curtain. Obviously this lacks privacy! The shower had mould. Apart from that, there was a blockage in the shower drain - when taking a shower, the water floods and overflows to the bathroom! The worst part was the very uncomfortable bed. We were sleeping and at 3am, the bed breaks from the middle! We obviously went to the reception to complain.. only to find the reception closed and everywhere pitch dark! We were left to sleep on the floor, literally! The next day we complained to the guy at the reception. He only spoke in Italian and just told us that he'll tell his manager (not sure if he understood in the first place!). The property never replied back to our messages!! Avoid!

Mignon in Trieste: surprise and amazement..... but we rested well

I read several negative reviews, but I wanted to check for myself, also because the world is beautiful because it's varied...
Trieste has a retro, decadent taste, mindful of a glorious past and this hotel traces its fate. Undoubtedly the location remains one of the best, overlooking the marina of Grignano., visible from the large windows of the breakfast room. Boutique hotel furniture, or maybe even from a refined desire to put things together to give a very particular imprint..... What to say something I would have eliminated
The reception honestly was not the best, as we paid the reservation even before going to the room. They made us choose between two accommodations, one on the first floor and one on the third. Both rooms were dated and furnished with a variety of unique furniture. Double-glazed windows, as he used to 50 years ago, but no curtains and shutters that had known better times. My bathroom also had the rock instead of the cap, but it did its job very well... Bed and bathroom clean.
Breakfast, certainly not great hotel but to the jams and fresh sandwiches were added toast, yogurt, juice ace and saucer of salty: it can 'go.... do not be bad.... and then the room drew the eye everywhere.......
The owners, no longer 'very young him, active and courteous her, told us that they would like to welcome us better, but the best rooms were already gone....
What about it was an experience and I think that after traveling so many places, sleeping in different hotels, we did not happen from the stars to the stables as someone wrote....

Don't go there a total disaster

Really bad hotel, very high cost for the type of rooms, uncomfortable to reach because of both external and internal stairs, uncomfortable bathroom, no bidet, small shower, faucets not very functional, beds cobbled together beautifully and better with furry pillows of the 70s full of dust, I did not want to look at the mattresses covered as mattress covers from very old towels, very high cost (110 per room) there was the barcolana so they took further advantage, the breakfast bad burned coffee, bagged croissants of the most bad discount. I wonder but who gave even that meager star is an unconscious, they should close immediately for the little Hygiene.

Bad Processing

Booked on July 16 for a w.e. in September (12 to 14) a few days before my arrival I phoned the hotel for road information. When I said the days of my reservation, the lady who answered was a little surprised. After a couple of hours my reservation was cancelled. I called the hotel to state my disappointment and especially in the previous phone call if there were any problems they could say it before, given the long advance of my reservation and on the phone a gentleman reported a plumbing problem at the studio, which gave me the idea of a very false excuse.
Bad.
