Our stay was amazing. Great location and the staff was really helpful. A few weeks before check in I had emailed them about restaurant recommendations and a private boat taxi from the airport. They coordinated all of it and even offered to make the dinner reservations for us. The room was beautiful we enjoyed our stay!

Probably a good value hotel with limitations because of its history

Had a four night stay at the Ca Dei Conti, tagged onto the end of another holiday.
The location is very good, with easy access to St Mark's Square (5 minute walk).
I have not stayed in other Venice hotels to compare, but found that there was surprisingly little storage space for clothing, with only very small antique furniture in the rooms we stayed in.
The rooms and bathrooms were also very small, but this may well be because of the historical nature of Venice and the building in general.
The breakfast was a buffet style and we only had it on one day out of four, as it was very basic and not to the liking of our children (they are 22 and 20) and it had very poor gluten-free options.
Whilst the rooms were very clean, the carpets and curtains (plus pelmets) were not and I think the whole place would benefit from a really good, deep clean when time permits.
Reception staff were fantastic and overall, I suspect this offers good value and is in a great location. I would however advise not to imagine a hotel in Venice which is similar to the modern hotels we are used to in other areas. The building and part of its charm is the history of Venice and this affords a good base to explore the city.

Do not stay here

This was the worst experience ever. We stayed at this hotel 15 years ago after it was renovated and it was good. It was so disappointing this time as the air conditioning didn’t work, the breakfast was so bad that it was inedible and the room was mouldy and dank. Don’t waste your time or money here !

Excellent location

Fabulous location and great little hotel. Had a surprise upgrade to canal view suite, which was very spacious. Continental Breakfast with reasonable choices. Air-conditioning not very strong and was difficult to change the temperature in the room.

What could have been a unique hotel with a good location turned out to be a horrible stay. The air conditioning was not working and our room ended up being 28 degrees at points. My husband could not sleep at all and what could have been an enjoyable stay in Venice turned out to be the worst part of our vacation. The front desk put us off the first night saying they would turn the temperature down with their front desk controls which did not have an effect. The following night when we got back from sight seeing and the room was 26, they sent someone up to look at it and he said it was working. It was not able to get cooler due to the heat outside, but they could offer us a fan for our room. By the following day, the temperature was 28 degrees. We stayed in multiple other hotels in the same heat all with air conditioning advertised and this was the only one that did not provide it, nor did they care if about our concern for the temperature. The staff was angry when we told a couple coming into the hotel the temperature of the room so they could consider their choice of stays if they were wanting cool rooms to come back to. Not a hotel for summer.
