A warm, cozy and peaceful stay at Hotel Ambassador during our winter vacation
We had a very good time at hotel Ambassador in Almaty....staff were amazing and went out of their way to help us...language barrier was no problem at at. All it needs is good understanding of a traveller ers needs. N they were super in that. The rooms were clean, warm in the january winter, the washroom n toilets were clean and toiletries were abundantly supplied. We had good breakfast times with amazing kazakh traditional food items and the ambience was great. The ladies at the reception and help counter and also the security officer were mavellously helpful. Would definitely like to recommend Hotel Ambassador to all who wants a cozy stay while visiting Almaty. They even helped me clear up a missing amount from my bank account. Can't praise them enough for that... definitely lived up to the famous kazakh honesty n transparency. Definitely would like to stay over at hotel Ambassador in Almaty during future visits.

Very old hotel
Booked a hotel for the week of 30.03.2025 to 06.04.2025. But they could only survive 24 hours and moved to another hotel. Reasons:
1. Unpleasant smell throughout the hotel
2. Old shabby rooms, plumbing and burnt irons see photo
3. There's no room for breakfast. There are six tables on two floors of rooms, which were all occupied. I had to take food and carry it to my room on the second floor.
4. Breakfast is not good. Cheese/sausages of the lowest quality. Apples are straight with labels. Croissants are week-old. The only thing they found was eggs and yogurt.
At the same time, a pleasant staff that tries to work off objections and customer problems.
5. In the hotel 80% of the guests are Hindus who flee the unpleasant smell of the old smoked room burning aromas sticks. So the other guests have nothing to breathe.

For a work trip, the hotel is just right!
Dear guests of the city of Almaty. this hotel 20 years ago had a very good reputation and was just a mega cool place! However, it has now blown away. BUT for its money it still remains a pretty good offer in the PRICE/QUALITY category. All in all - I recommend! By the way breakfast is not Turkish all inclusive - but don't go hungry! the bed is clean, the furniture is tired. BUT ORDER IS BEING WATCHED!!!

Comfortable and Good Value
Excellent central location close to all amenities and museums. Oldish hotel but perfectly functional and very comfortable. Noisy kids constantly running around were a bit problematic trying to get sleep before return flight. Other than that a decent place at a decent price too. Nice staff.

Very good location
Was with my family in August 2023.
The hotel is a 3-storey building with high ceilings in the central part of the city. When it was opened/renovated, judging by the style of the renovation, about 20 years ago, it was done very well and of high quality. It was probably very expensive and cool back then. Now the renovation is a little tired, but the hotel itself now looks neat and is kept clean. There are no complaints about the cleaning.
The staff is very friendly and cooperative. All requests and questions were always responded to politely. All requests were fulfilled. Everything they asked for was brought. Rooms are cleaned daily. The bathroom has a set of shampoos, toothbrushes, gels, etc. Every day a liter bottle of water was brought to the room free of charge. There is a kettle and tea and coffee making facilities.
Breakfast is not extensive, but everything you need is there. We didn't go hungry. Scrambled eggs and an omelet are made for those who wish. The coffee was good. We were pleased with the bagels and bagels.
The location is extremely good. Almost opposite there is an exchange office with adequate rates. There are plenty of restaurants and cafes nearby. There are grocery stores. Museums and shopping centers are within 10-15 minutes by taxi. There are places to walk.
The price/quality ratio, it seems to me, is quite good.
There are free Tele2 SIM cards at the reception.
Overall, we were satisfied with our stay and are ready to stay at this hotel again.
