We had a wonderful stay here - an oasis of calm in the hustle and bustle of central Kisumu. The rooms were clean and of a much higher standard than most other hotels in the area.

Pleasant staff but needs some renovation

The staff were really helpful, but the place had seen better days and the food was just above school canteen level. I asked for a room change so was asked if I didn't like the view; I asked for a better room but was told they were all the same. There was an issue with the Expedia payment as they had been scammed the end of Jan, and some payments were going through to a bogus site. I ended up paying for the accommodation myself, plus the food and drink which I expected. The air-conditioning was good, and the sheets and towels were clean. The water was luke warm on the morning of the 2nd day. Tea/coffee was in the room, but I was told milk was not available. The staff were kind and helpful, but I will look for alternatives if I am in the area again. Photos attached..

After making a reservation as per, usual as a couple with a teenage daughter, when we arrived, we were told that in order to get the suppossed free rollaway bed as is usually shown in the reservation description, this time it would cost 2k more to get the bed or the three people could just share one bed. The manager refused to speak with my husband and I personally so we had to leave and come back later. Finally, they agreed to include the bed at no extra cost and the manager did end up offering a half hearted explanation over the phone (although he never presented himself in person and that was very impolite). In the end the experience was very uncomfortable due to the checking in ordeal/ rollaway bed but I do appreciate the fact that they opted to do the right thing minus any extra charges. This experience left a poor impression and I am not certain I would stay here again if they will not honor our request for a rollaway bed, as promoted, at no extra cost. Restaurant food was good and so was the restaurant staff.

A quiet and relaxed place

Located in the prime Kilimani area, this place offers you a peaceful stay. The rooms are fairly clean. The good is great, and it is value for money. The workers could improve, especially in reception and housekeeping. Ensure you have mosquito repellent.

The staff is warm and friendly but we got sick after eating what they call chicken nuggets and that was rough, other than that, the place is nice.
