Basecamp Masai Mara
My daughter & I had 3 night with the crew at Basecamp . The tents are great as are the staff and the guides. Shout out Benson who was our attentive waiter 3 times a day and also to Lerobert, an older Masai warrior who was always around threatened to shoot baboons with his bow and arrow. Unnecessary but quaint. The manyatta ( Masai village also worth the visit . The game is plentiful.

A great place to stay at the edge of the reserve
The camp itself is lovely, right by the river amongst the birds and the tents are very luxurious. When you cross the bridge, you’re right inside the Maasai Mara park, which means you don’t have to queue at the gate for your game drives.
If you care about sustainable safari, respect of nature and its wildlife, and taking the time to see nature unravel then John is your guide.
John has a wealth of knowledge that he will share throughout the drive, avoid the big crowd of cars, and all of it delivered with fun and you will not see the time pass.
Make sure to check out his YouTube channel for the very rare puff adder snake @johnkorromboi
They have a culture center that is full of knowledge about local nature art and culture (where they do their own beading).
The Masai village visit was also great, learning about Masai culture, habits and way of life. Moses was a great host and it was just the right amount of time and you can buy some items made in the village, without any pressure (love my peace stick that also works as a back scratcher).
Staff are great, really friendly and helpful, especially our waiter Lenny, who was always smiling even at 5am.
The food is good (but not as good as I was expecting.)

Sleeping surrounded by the sounds of the Masai Mara
Our stay at BaseCamp Masai Mara was short, as we only spent one night there, but we had a really great experience.
Everything was very clean, comfortable and well taken care of, and the staff made us feel welcome from the moment we arrived.
What makes this place especially unique is how close you feel to nature and wildlife. If you enjoy being surrounded by animals (especially hearing them during the night) this is definitely the place for you. It is amazing to experience the sounds of the savannah from your tent and feel how close the wildlife is.
At the same time, we always felt completely safe, with the Maasai staff watching over the camp and making sure everything was secure.
A very special and authentic way to experience the Masai Mara. Definitely recommended!

STAY HERE
I cannot say enough about this camp. It far exceeded my expectations. The staff went above and beyond to make us feel not only comfortable but feel like family. The overnight staff was so helpful keeping us safe. The food was phenomenal. They thought of everything including coffee on our early morning game drives with breakfast! Even packed us a lunch for the plane when we left. They accomodated our group of 17. The tents were luxurious. Hot water was unexpected by me but so appreciated. My only complaint was I stayed awake multiple nights listening to all of the sounds! It was incredible. Our game drivers were so knowledgable. I really can't say enough about this place from the moment we arrived to the moment we left we were cared for and pampered.

Coordinating that level of care for a group of 17, is exactly the thoughtfulness we hope every guest feels, and it sounds like the overnight team's watchfulness gave you real peace of mind too. Staying awake to soak in the sounds of the wild is a complaint we'll happily take! Thank you for such generous words.

Good service and good food
We were received incredibly well, and were very happy with the "tent" we got. The cleanliness was very good, and the service in general was very good. We appreciated being escorted to and from the restaurant by the masai when it was dark. This was an extra plus
The camp is very well located by a river, here we were so lucky to see a river horse and elephants right on the other side!
The breakfast, lunch and dinner were also very good and varied.
We definitely recommend Basecamp Masai Mara
