Retro Boutique is a great, small hotel near Diani Beach. I stayed in the deluxe double room on the top floor, and I was amazed at how large my room was. Most if not all the rooms have a balcony, but my room had two balconies. One in the front of the room and one in the back of the room. The water pressure in the bathroom was good, the A/C was cold, and the wifi was fast. My bed also had a mosquito net, but I don't think it was necessary. Also, the breakfast was delicious and it was a hefty amount too. There is a smart TV in the room that is connected to the wifi, but there are no TV channels. Also, there was no in room safe. The staff was lovely, helpful, and I had no problems talking to them in english. I would stay here again.

The hotel had a good breakfast, rooms and pool where clean.
I expected a more professional management and attitude. Unpresent at night, unprepared by day. Only cash, hard to get change, laundry service was slow but at least they had that service. Lots of flies.

Day light robbers

I will never visit this place again, and the manager Naomi is very rude, has no manners whatsoever. The palce is not even in Mombasa like they calim on their website, it can be very misleading when its your first time in Kenya. The food is also very bad.

Great value, clean hotel with wonderful staff

Hotel is located 5 minutes walk from a small mall and 10 minutes from the beach. Good breakfast daily. Nice pool. Clean. Room is spacious with comfy bed and large seated area and balcony. Air con and fan. Reliable WiFi. Room cleaned daily to an excellent standard.
Staff are all wonderful, helpful and accommodating. The food for dinner is simple but excellent.
Would love to give it a five, but hot water is patchy (not such a problem in the heat!), the TV is internet only and the fridge for guest use is not in the room.
Saying that, we will definitely stay again.

Description from Expedia didn't really match the room. Told it included fridge and microwave but then when we arrived we were told that those things are available in the kitchen. Then there's a notice in the room informing you food and drinks from outside not allowed. Saying that there's a fridge and microwave for guest use implies it's semi-self catering. Just a bit incongruous and confusing.
