Medina Palms and Roy Watamu: unforgettable experience.
We were in Kenya, specifically in Watamu, from July 6 to July 15, and we spent a vacation that we will always carry in our hearts.
We stayed at this resort and we can say that we experienced 9 days of pure relaxation. The property is welcoming, well-maintained, and immersed in a peaceful atmosphere, perfect for taking a break from the routine. A special thanks goes to all the staff, always smiling, kind, and helpful, ready to satisfy every need. The cuisine also won us over, thanks to a rich, varied, and high-quality menu, capable of satisfying all tastes.
As for the excursions, we relied on Roy Watamu and we could not have made a better choice. In addition to demonstrating great professionalism, competence, and friendliness, he let us live authentic experiences that made this vacation even more special. The safari was simply unforgettable: just to allow us to see the king of the savanna, the lion, he extended the excursion well beyond the scheduled time. A gesture that demonstrates all his passion and dedication.
All the other excursions were also extraordinary and made us discover the true essence of Africa, among breathtaking landscapes, pristine nature, and wonderful people.
We highly recommend both this resort and Roy Watamu to anyone who wants to live an authentic, relaxing, and emotion-filled experience.

Beautiful hotel in Watamu.
The Medina Palms is a beautiful hotel with very large rooms and a private kitchen inside. The pool area consists of two larger pools that are connected by a "canal." The food at the hotel tastes very good. The only downside is that the internet connection at the pool is relatively poor. In the room, this works excellently.

Relaxing In The Sun
Medina Palms is about a two and a half hour drive from Mombasa, but it is a lovely, small, quiet hotel in beautiful surroundings with very friendly staff. There appeared to be a variety of rooms. Our room was more of an apartment with lounge, fully fitted kitchen, two bathrooms and two bedrooms. As we were full board, we never made use of the kitchen and only used one of the bedrooms and bathrooms.
Only one a la carte menu for lunch and dinner, but the choice was more than enough and the food was excellent. We were lucky with the weather and were able to dine outside for lunch and dinner (with no bother from mosquitos). One small complaint was that we had to pay for water with the meals. Not expected in a 5* hotel.
A very Moorish theme to the architecture , with ogee arches and interconnected pools running through the gardens and down to the long, white sand beach. You could swim in the pools and the pool attendants were always on hand to supply towels for the very comfortable sun beds, of which there was plenty of choice.
Took a few walks into Watamu. Felt quite safe and were never bothered by souvenir sellers etc. We made use of the local motorbike or tuk tuk taxis for our return, (very reasonable price).
After four days, we went on a 5 day safari wth Pollmans (see seperate trip adviser report). We had to vacate our room, but the hotel looked after our luggage and we returned for a further five days to the same room.
All in all, a wonderful holiday and I would recommend staying at this hotel.

Live Kenya with strawberry
We stayed at Medina Palms and went on a 5-day safari with DISCOVERY with STRAWBERRY.
Everything was excellent, our guide Rafiki was friendly, knowledgeable, and we managed to see many animals.
Everyone was super helpful and kind.
Highly recommended experience.

Green Oasis
Beautifully set hotel within a forest like feel, pools along the entire stretch down to the beach.
Rooms are clean and huge, the pent house had a well equipped kitchen, two lounges, dining area, two large ensuite bedrooms and a plunge pool rooftop. We had clean fresh towels daily and Phineas Pendo looked after our room well.
All rooms have views to the pool areas, convenient for those with children. Service by the pool was excellent, thanks to Alex and his hospitality skills.
Breakfast spread was one of the best we've had, with choices of pastries, fruits, cheeses, eggs, waffles, pancakes, sausages, and daily local options too like mahamri barazi and mandazis.
Amandina restaurant had a large a la carte menu - seafood, pizzas, continental and veg options were excellent. Kiddy menu was great for light lunch time meals
Service was decent, no long waits!
We travelled during low season and had the BNB option as there are many restaurants near by
