Old hotel, not maintained well

Location is good as it is in Hamra.
Not exactly center of Hamra, but the edge of Hamra. Convenient location.
You have an option with or without breakfast.
It is served between 8:00 and 10:00
It is simple buffet style
There is a bar inside of the hotel. (this is a breakfast place)
They have an even piano ! Yes it is Mozart Hotel after all. I bought a small bottle of wine from the bar as I wanted to sip with to-go food.
It is an old hotel with a very typical old elevator :)
I can’t tell if it is maintained well or not.
The floor of the room I stayed wasn’t clean, I guess it is probably a cleaning lady’s issue. There was a lot of dust.
The button to switch shower and tap in the bathroom wouldn’t move at all. I couldn't use the shower. Unfortunately the height of the tap was very low and I had a difficult time shampooing. It was very inconvenient. It has to be replaced.
It was warm water but it took some time before the temperature finally got warm.
They might have had TV before in each room as I could see a hook on the wall but no TV as of August 2023.
Wifi is provided for free but the 4th floor was very weak.
Amenities:
- Shampoo/Conditioner
- Soap
- Fridge
- Safe
- Linen
- towel
Mayflower hotel nearby is nice. (I had stayed there)
As of 2023, Mozart hotel cost more in AGODA  but I definitely prefer Mayflower.

The power doesn't work for hours every day. When this happens, the elevator doesn't work. The bathroom smelled bad, the safe didn't work, and my room was lacking towels.
Some extenuating circumstances: it's not the hotel's fault the power goes out; this happens across the city. Also, there was a backup lighting system. However -- it is the hotel's responsibility to notify guests of the fact that the elevator doesn't work during high traffic times of day, particularly in that it makes it impossible to use the elevator in an 8-story building. Fancier hotels in Beirut have backup generators that address this problem. Many people might have been fine paying less for a building with no backup generator, but I didn't have the chance to make this choice bc the hotel was not upfront about the fact that they can't afford one.
I have a bad leg and didn't want to have to walk up to the eighth floor when the power went out, so I had them move me to the first floor. However, the room they moved me to was missing basic things like pillow cases and towels. When I complained, they brought me pillowcases, but I never got towels.
One of the most concerning features was that the safe did not work in either room. When I asked about this I was told a guy would come on Monday who had the key to set up the safe. The guy never came. It's inexcusable to not have the person with the key to the safe accessible when someone is getting settled in their room. It made me feel unsafe.

Worst hotel I've ever been to

Had a reservation for 19th to 21st September. We are a family of 5 with 3 children (twins aged 2 and baby aged 1) travelling with 2 adults and another 2 year old. Checked in at approx 2/3am on 20th Sept. Were given a room a double and a twin. Absolutely terrible. Lift only fits about 1 orn2 people inside. Got to the room and it had an awful smell. Filthy dirty and a weird sound coming from bathroom. Quickly realised smell was from the toilet which had unflushed stool inside. Requested another room. Gave room next door which stank the same and again filthy dirty. They eventually changed us to a larger room on 2nd floor, again with same smell but also broken bathroom, exposed wires and totally filthy. The twin room was equally dirty with old blood on the pillows. As we had children we decided we could not risk the health and safety of our children and we would not be able to stay the night. It was approx 3am now so we had only been on the hotel for about 45mjnutes. My husband went and told reception and they agreed to only return money for 1 night as they said we had technically stayed a night. We agreed as we just wanted to come out from there. We thought we would come back and contact booking.com to recover the remaining refund. Once contacting booking.com they contacted the property who even still refused to return the remainder of our money as they insisted we stayed a night after only being there 45 minutes!!!! With 4 young children after a long journey the service was the worst I have ever experienced. This place should not even be called a hotel as it is most definitely not fit for any human. Pictures attached. AVOID AT ALL COSTS!!!! Less than 1 star. Never ever again
