Excellent stay at the Oaza inn
Excellent stay at the Oaza inn booked through TUI, the owner and his wife were so welcoming, truly amazing people. The rooms were clean and the complex was peaceful. The breakfast was freshly made every morning and the hotel was a perfect distance from the centre of Ohrid. Thank you for our stay.

Amazing Relaxing Holiday at Oaza
We were looking for a nice chilled out holiday and Oaza delivered perfectly. From the moment we walked through the gates we were taken aback by how beautiful the gardens were. As good as photos are when helping to choose where to book, they don’t do it justice. We were welcomed by Blago (and Bruno the German Shepherd) and given coffee, cake and a shot of raki. Blago gave us enough good information to get us going and both him and Jan were really friendly and helpful. They also have some others helping out who are also incredibly friendly. The room was fine for myself, my wife and our teenage daughter. The pool area was perfect, chilled out, always enough sunbeds and was perfect to just get in and cool off after a while in the sun! The breakfast is continental but there is warm scrambled egg with toast if you want something hot. There is an honesty bar where you can take a beer, wine or soft drink and mark against your room on a sheet which you pay at the end of your stay.
Onto, Ohrid. The hotel is around 2km from the main centre. We walked down there every day and got a taxi back. The taxis ranged from 350 to 500 denar depending on how busy they were but they will tell you the price before you get in. There is a small supermarket 1km away which is good but doesn’t sell alcohol. There is another around 500m further on.
The centre of Ohrid is beautiful and bustling. Always plenty of people mingling around the shops and the lakefront. There are loads of restaurants and bars and all very reasonable.
All in all, the holiday delivered everything we were looking for and we were gutted to be coming home yesterday.

Wonderful experience
We had a great time at Oaza Inn! From the moment we arrived we felt incredibly welcome by the lovely and welcoming staff. Mood was laid back.
The rooms were clean and cared for. Extra nice were the lovely animals that hop around freely – that really gave our stay a special charm.
The breakfast was fine and you noticed it was prepared with love.
We also liked the fact that we could borrow bicycles for a small fee. Discarded city bikes that get a second life here – ideal for exploring the area in a sustainable way.
In short: a fantastic place where everything fits. We will definitely come back here again!

Friendly Guests
We booked our stay as part of a package with TUI and overall found the experience enjoyable. The hotel is set within lovely, spacious gardens that offer a peaceful atmosphere—perfect for relaxing by the swimming pool. The owners were welcoming on arrival.
We chose a garden studio, which included a small kitchenette. This was particularly beneficial, allowing us to prepare light lunches and snacks. The room itself was comfortable, with plentiful hot water and daily visits from housekeeping—though cleaning was limited to emptying the bin and changing the shower mat.
Breakfast is served early, between 7 and 9 am. It was pleasant but very basic, so we appreciated having the kitchenette. Supermarkets, small ones, are plentiful but about a 15-minute walk away.
A few practical notes for future guests: the walk into town takes around 25 minutes, and taxis back cost approximately 5 euros one way. Although taxis can be phoned from the hotel, we found this unreliable—of the three firms recommended, two didn’t answer and the third spoke no English and hung up on us twice. With no one around to assist, we ended up walking into town instead.
There are bikes available to hire for €5 per bike per week, but you don’t keep the same bike throughout your stay. Many of the bikes require maintenance—seats aren’t adjustable, chains can come off, and brakes are weak—so they’re best used for short trips to the shops rather than longer excursions. Located by the bins means it gets a bit smelly sorting out a bike!
Around the pool, sunbeds are available but comfort is limited. There are only three or four foam mattresses, which get wet easily and aren’t always usable. The wooden sunbeds in particular can be uncomfortable without padding,if you plan to lounge for long periods.
The bathroom in our studio was quite tired, with a broken toilet roll holder and cracked ceiling tiles propped up with a toilet roll. We also experienced considerable noise from the room above—footsteps were much louder than expected. The microwave was dirty. While the accommodation was comfortable, we did feel that TUI’s description oversold certain features, such as the availability of a barbecue area,which was not in use during our visit ie no coals or wood, kitchen implements, and washing hanging to dry by the BBQ. Note there is no children’s pool.
That said, the atmosphere was lovely. Guests came from a range of nationalities and were very friendly, which added to the charm of the place. Ohrid itself is fantastic—rich in history, culture, and natural beauty, with so much to see and do.
Thinking of the property more as a bed and breakfast than a hotel sets more realistic expectations. It offers a peaceful setting, warm hospitality; there are areas that could be improved, we found our stay enjoyable and hope this review is helpful and informative for others considering a visit.

Definitely not recommended
Let me start by saying that the photos this hotel appears to boast of don't match reality. The garden is overgrown, the pool is surrounded by a dirty, ugly green fence, the water is freezing cold, so cold you can't swim in it, the children's pool is overgrown with stones and plants, the whirlpool doesn't work and has a dirty, ugly green cloth draped over it. The rooms are poorly maintained and very noisy, the bathroom is dated, there are lots of vermin in the room upon arrival, and the room hasn't been dust-free. The plastic furniture makes the terrace area feel rather dull. The breakfast is very basic and the same every day, with little to no variety. We stayed at Oaza Inn for two weeks, and in those two weeks, we didn't receive any fresh bedding or fresh towels! The garden regularly smelled of dog poop from the owners' dogs relieving themselves there. This hotel is absolutely unworthy of its three stars. In short, I won't be returning, and the owners can make a lot of improvements, a lot!
