Dead Flies, Mould, Broken Locks & No Refund — Avoid This Hotel
This was genuinely one of the worst hotel experiences I have ever had and completely ruined the start of our holiday in Marrakech. I travelled with my 10-year-old son to Marrakech yesterday expecting a relaxing stay, but within hours of arriving we were forced to move rooms repeatedly because of the unacceptable condition of the hotel.
Firstly, the hotel does not appear anything like it does in the images presented online. It is completely overpriced for what it is and not a functioning hotel in the slightest, without a reception or a proper team of staff. Moreover, the first room had dead flies all over the floor and smelled disgusting, like a barn. The second room had visible mould and multiple maintenance problems. The third room had a door that did not lock properly, which is completely unacceptable for a woman travelling alone with a child and staying in a remote property outside of the city. To make matters even worse, we later discovered there was no hot water in the room either, towel hooks broke off the wall, doors were jammed, and windows were unsecured.
After arriving late and then being made to move rooms repeatedly until around midnight, my son was completely exhausted. The stress and disruption became so bad that my son ended up having an accident during the repeated room changes, just before midnight, walking in darkness into a glass door, resulting in a swollen lip and chipped tooth. We are now dealing with dental treatment costs during our holiday because of this. Despite the fact that my son was injured and bleeding, there was not even the slightest apology, empathy, or concern shown by the owner.
Despite raising these concerns calmly and repeatedly, management refused to take proper responsibility. The staff members on site, Salma and Sofiane, were polite and could clearly see the issues themselves and apologised throughout, but the owner/management handled the situation terribly.
The owner was based abroad in France and refused to speak to me directly, instead choosing to communicate infrequently through mobile phone messages while insisting there was a strict no-refund policy under any circumstances, even though I reported the issues within an hour of checking in. Calls were ignored, concerns were dismissed, and every issue was met with excuses instead of solutions. He even suggested that perhaps I was looking for nightlife and parties, when in reality I was simply travelling with my child looking for a calm family holiday. The comment was completely inappropriate and honestly audacious given the circumstances.
The most shocking part is that management continued hiding behind a “non-refundable policy” despite the hotel clearly failing to provide even basic standards of hygiene, maintenance, safety, and comfort.
We ultimately had no choice but to leave the hotel and urgently book alternative accommodation elsewhere, meaning I have now had to pay for accommodation TWICE because the hotel refused to issue any refund whatsoever and am now dealing with this with my bank as a formal dispute.
What should have been a peaceful family holiday turned into stress, frustration, financial loss, and an exhausting battle simply trying to be treated fairly.
I have travelled to Marrakech before and stayed in far smaller boutique hotels for half the price that provided impeccable service and spotless rooms. This experience was the complete opposite.
I strongly advise anyone considering this hotel to think very carefully before booking. Completely unprofessional and total crook of an owner.

We were a group of six couples and no one has anything to say about it.
Ideally placed to play golf and visit Marrakech.
