This Hotel Scam; Very careful
We booked four nights directly on their main website. The confirmation clearly showed check-in on Monday and check-out on Friday, and even had screenshots of their own website confirming it. However, the day we arrived — and just before New Year’s — we were told we had to leave earlier, claiming that what the website “really meant” was three nights. This felt like gaslighting.
Trying to resolve the situation was impossible. Each conversation brought a different excuse: that four nights “actually means three” on your system, that the website was wrong, or that it was a misunderstanding of ours. Nothing was consistent.
For reference, the registered owner of the place is Jessica Brizuela and the contact email provided is jessibriba@gmail.com.
Then they offered to move us to a “sister hotel” and tried to charge us more than the original online booking indicated. Luckily we checked before accepting. At that point, we decided to leave completely.
What was supposed to be a relaxing trip ended up being a very stressful and disappointing experience. I had many emotions and was very disappointed; we just wanted to enjoy our vacation.
To make matters worse, the terrace road to the place is HORRIBLE, which only increased stress. We ended up staying at Frida Hotel, which was much better in every way: clear prices, better location and much easier access. In our experience, what they did to us felt like a scam, and I hope more people will be aware and report it. Please stay away.

Misleading Pricing, Shortened Stay, and No Refund
First, I booked online at a confirmed rate, which the hotel acknowledged prior to arrival. However, when we arrived at the property, we were told we had to pay a higher rate than what was confirmed. This was not disclosed in advance and felt misleading.
Second, despite booking and paying for four nights, the hotel only provided the room for three nights, forcing us to find a different hotel for our final night in Valle de Guadalupe.
I requested a refund for both the overcharge and the unused night, but the hotel refused to issue any refund or make any accommodation, despite the mistake being entirely on their end. Compounding this issue, the hotel required payment in cash only, which eliminated any ability to dispute the charge through a credit card company.
Finally, the access roads to the property are in extremely poor condition. The dirt roads are filled with deep potholes, making driving uncomfortable and potentially unsafe. When it rained, the potholes filled with water and turned into large puddles that covered the entire road. To reach the hotel, our car had to drive through water deep enough that it briefly floated, creating a real risk of vehicle damage.
Valle de Guadalupe is a beautiful destination, but unfortunately this hotel’s pricing practices, booking errors, refusal to provide a refund, and cash-only payment requirement made the experience stressful rather than relaxing. I would strongly recommend travelers choose a different property.
