Great building and great safe location. My first night they gave me room 27, a tiny, hot, windowless box that is right in front of the rooftop access. The next day they moved me to Room 8 which opened into the inner courtyard. Great room, but wifi didn't work in that room. When I asked the l front desk he just kind of shrugged his shoulders and asked if I wanted to go back to Room 27. They also don't provide drinking water and once the cistern/garrifon ran out of out they didn't refill it. It's a shame that this awesome property is managed poorly.

Could have been a great stay

Great building and great location. Very safe. My first night they gave me room 27, a tiny, hot, windowless box that is right in front of the rooftop access. Avoid staying here

If you can avoid staying here, do it!
It is incredible the apathy that the entire staff has; terrible customer service. It is a shame to have such a beautiful hotel left in the hands of people who do not have the
ability to solve even the smallest problem; they only justify. Even if we felt the slightest effort or a bit of empathy as customers, it would be enough, but it is incredible the ineptitude and indifference with which they treat customers. DO NOT STAY HERE! It is not worth it; my room was full of water because the mini-split started leaking, and their solution was, "turn up the temperature."

Locked rooms, difficult access

The staff was very friendly.
The location is one block from the cathedral.
The facilities are terrible, the internet is weak inside the rooms so it falls every time, it has no natural ventilation, the windows are sealed, the only air inlet is opening the door, after sleeping 5 hours you feel you suffocate, roll smells old and locked, the TV is open and only 12 channels are seen, the restaurant and bathrooms are on the roof on the fourth floor, there is no elevator, so people who have mobility problems there is no way to climb stairs.

My experience at Hotel Gala was very bad. The service at the front desk was poor, there was no hot water to take a shower, and there were no bottled waters provided in the rooms. I went downstairs to ask if they could give me a bottle of water and they said no. They showed me where I could get water, and when I asked for a cup, they told me I had to bring my own. My stay at Hotel Gala was very unpleasant.
