Total disappointment – beware of this hotel’s practices!
Unfortunately, when we arrived — after a long and tiring journey — we were told at reception that we couldn't be accommodated in the room we booked due to “electrical issues.” Instead, they offered us a different room for one night.
The alternative room was far below expectations: very small, dirty walls, and a window facing a stairwell — nothing like the sea-view room we had reserved.
To "compensate," they offered us €50 in cash — but only if we canceled the entire Booking.com reservation, with the promise that we’d get the originally booked room for the remaining two nights.
While waiting for the manager to clarify the situation, my wife found another review on TripAdvisor describing the exact same experience, which made us feel this might not be a one-time issue, but a recurring tactic.
Exhausted from the trip and lacking alternatives, we reluctantly accepted the offer. Still, I feel it's important to share this experience to warn future travelers about this kind of practice — last-minute room downgrades, pressured cancellations, and unprofessional handling of reservations.
⚫️ Proceed with caution if you plan to book this hotel. What started as a hopeful stay quickly turned into a major disappointment.

Keep away form this place
we arrived after 8 hours + on motorbike...well used. On arrival there was no one at the reception, we approached via the door phone. Here we were told that it would be 5 minutes before someone would be present. We announced that we would have a few beers and a pizza next door (IL. Galeone, can be highly recommended)
When the Owner arrived I went over to check in, here he recommended that I should cancel my booking as he could then give a better room! I did as he said, first mistake! the room was not like the one I had ordered with 2 floors view etc. but never mind we only had to sleep one night. Then I asked about the bar and spa (we are on a 5 star hotel)

Disappointing
The owner Fardi promised us a credit of EUR 50.00 as compensation. Despite repeated inquiries and the promise of the manager to transfer the money to us, we never received this credit.
We are very disappointed with the unprofessional behavior and therefore cannot recommend the Hotel Senator.
