A hotel that is appreciated

Beautiful comfortable room including the necessary for the shower, a welcome tray with water, tea, coffee.
The staff is attentive and friendly.
Special mention at the diverse and hearty breakfast to attack the day well!

Pleasant experience

Stayed here for a night. Room was upgraded to a suite as per membership benefit. Huge room with well equipped amenities. We dined at the restaurant for dinner and breakfast and received wonderful service from Augusto. Very kind gentleman. Thank you.

Lots to improve on

Stayed here solo for one night. Upon check in everything went well. The room was ready and as I was leaving at 7am the next day I was promised a breakfast box to go (since breakfast was included in the price). Room was clean and it had a nice view however the bed was very uncomfortable (thin mattress and it was slanted somehow). Water came off for a couple hours at night right as I wanted to shower. Maintenance came in to check and said it was probably the City that cut it off. Early the next day I go to reception and ask for the breakfast box and the manager on duty tells me that she doesn't know anything about it. So I asked for a take-away box and it was a whole back and forth on what to do because they had no take-away boxes. Eventually I got through with breakfast and was on my way. I wouldn't recommend staying here. Someone mentioned that the ownership has changed so not sure if the quality of service has to do with that.

Dissappointment

Having experienced the 5star feel and look at The Olive Express and Strand Hotel this 1 night sleep over before flying back to South Africa was a dissappointment. The hotel looks good but the beds need to be replaced, maybe renovations the other reviews referring to is yet to be done for the 2 rooms we saw. The 1st room allocated with 2 single beds flat and falling down towards the heads was changed upon complaining then we were allocated to the nice spacious room with a double bed too small for the room of that size with thin old uncomfortable matrass and linen that look and feel very very old. We decided not to complain this time around as we were tired after driving 4 hrs from Swakopmund but slept with eyes opened looking forward to see the sun and check out. The hotel must upgrade beds, which is what guests enjoys not the look and unmatched 4 str grading right now. Reception must pay attention to detail, I was told that my booking exclude breakfast only when we checked communication that indeed breakfast was included - why this was not checked before arrival?
Takeaway is the beautiful foyer, pool area and breakfast was great, oh yes and a spoil of chocolates locally made buffet on arrival.

Great staff and comfortable, clean rooms.

This is a very friendly hotel with spacious, comfortable rooms. Comfortable areas to have a drink and chill out. Restaurant is good and breakfasts are very good with great freshly made omelettes or eggs to order. I actually stayed 3 different nights and each time was a good experience.
