Weekend getaway

This is our go to hotel in Wellington and once again it didn’t disappoint. We stayed for one night and had a high room which was immaculate.
We really appreciate the warm cookies, bottled water and chocolate.
Overall another great visit.

Nice hotel but issues with the reservation

Clean and spacious rooms, good and abundant breakfast. Kind and helpful staff.
Only negative note: we initially had a reservation for two nights (through an agency), but we had notified them upon arrival that we would stay only one night due to the change in the ship's departure time. No problem, but since the booking was made by third parties, they could not issue a refund. We knew that and it was fine.
The next morning we notified them that the ship would be departing late, so we would be leaving later than what we had communicated the day before (from 11:30 AM to 2:30 PM). They replied no problem, meanwhile the booking was valid until the following day.
At the time of check-out, however, they notified us that in the meantime the booking had been changed and the second night canceled (apologizing that they hadn't checked), so check-out had to be done by 12:00 PM. Since it was 2:30 PM by then, they would have made us pay for the second night anyway. We didn't argue at the time since it was already late and we had to board.
I didn't find it very fair or professional, considering that in the morning we had notified them of the ship's delay and they themselves replied "no problem" because the booking was valid until the next day. If something had changed in the meantime, they should have notified us or at least not made us pay for the second night at that point (besides, we left at 2:30 PM instead of 12:00 PM, so not much later).

Best Wellington hotel I’ve stayed at

Great location if you are attending an event at the stadium. Hotel is very upmarket, rooms were well presented, all the ammenities you need. Shower was excellent, room was exceptionally clean. Can’t fault it, was a really great deal for the money.

The staff were outstanding and efficient. I need my room serviced before I returned. Done in ten minutes. Best breakfast buffet I’ve ever seen. I travel extensively and this property was simply outstanding.

The room is generally clean. But the shower could be better - there are visible moulds in those hard-to-reach places. The in-room bar fridge is not cold enough, and it has no freezer section. I wish the parking process can be improved. Currently, you drive to rigth outside the hotel park in the loading zone to check in, then you have to drive around the block (due to one way) to park behind the hotel in a Wilson parking. If it was during the peak hours, this could take some time. I wish it can be advised that so I would go to the carpark first then come through to the hotel to check-in (they are the same building).
