My experience at this hotel was very good. They have improved in many aspects. The facilities and rooms are very good, the beaches are beautiful and the staff is very attentive and kind.

I will never stay at this place again. There was not even a fitted sheet for the bed. Toilet don’t flush. No lamps. It was like surviving on a deserted island. I live in San Carlos Panama. My friend was visiting from the United States and does not have a great impression after sleeping in a bed that sunk in. The lock on my room broke and when I left to go to neighboring businesses my personal belongings were left unsecured. The lock was fixed the night before our departure. We stayed for 4 days and 3 nights. Money wasted.

This is a lovely rustic place to stay. The staff is friendly and helpful. The sunset from the beach was beautiful.

The idea of "Panama time" was prevalent on property. After traveling all day room was 2 hours behind for being ready, no keys given until requested on 2nd day, dinner offer by owners personal chef not prepared on time (left after waiting too long). BUT the owner constantly tried to make up for many things and that was appreciated. The dock was nice to relax on. The crew took people out for boat rides daily.
Biggest problem was the restaurant under new management. Arrogant and lacked cooking skills and most things unavailable on the menu. Until new restaurant management occurs we suggest El Bongo next door. Great food and super ambiance.
I do want to thank the owner of the hostel for his efforts having his chef make breakfast for us on the final morning. Of course, the follow through or "Panama time" really messed with our enjoyment. He really tried to please us, just not organized with his time and no strong staff to cover for him. Very nice fella and we wish him the best of luck.

i would try to find a nicer place to stay. The city of Colon seems to be safer now. Hotel in Colon?

Last minute reservation through a third party booking system. The ad indicated that the motel was 2 km from Portabelo town - in actuality, it was about 3km. The ad indicated that credit cards will be accepted. I was asked for cash payment, and finally ended up paying 7% surcharge to use the credit card. There was no soap in the bathroom. The only window cannot be opened. Window coverings cannot be pushed aside either. Faded/bleached bed covers. No bed sheet to cover at night. No bulb in the night stand lamp. The shower head was 5' tall, I am taller than that - see the issue?
Roof is tarped - structural/leaking issues?
