Pleasant stay in Aguas Calientes

My mum and I stayed at Hotel Ferre for one night ahead of our tour to Machu Picchu the following day.
We had a pleasant stay and it was perfect for the amount of time we were in Aguas Calientes. I actually quite enjoyed the area so would’ve happily stayed another night.
Upon arriving at Aguas Calientes, we were greeted by someone from the hotel who walked us over which was great. The room was basic but clean and quite warm. It would have been great if some tea/coffee making facilities were included in the room.
Overall, I would recommend.

Convenient for 1 night.

Good location although a steep walk from the station. Had to pay for a bottle of water, which we have had free at other hotels in Peru.
Limited breakfast but nice, the coffee was good.
There was a problem with mosquitoes so all we could do was keep the window closed, which made the room hot as there was no air con.

Great hotel for Machipichu adventure ❤️

Very nice place, clean, good service, great view while eating breakfast. Hot shower.. just very nice!❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️

⭐️⭐️ A Disappointing Stay – Could Be So Much Better

We stayed at Hotel Ferré Boulevard in Aguas Calientes for one night as part of a tour package to Machu Picchu, so we had no real say in the hotel selection. The location itself is fine — it’s just on the edge of the main town, only a short walk from the centre, which does mean it’s a bit quieter and away from street noise. When we arrived on the Vistadome train, the staff met us and walked us to the hotel, which was a nice touch. They were friendly and professional, and check-in was handled efficiently.
Unfortunately, that’s where the positives ended. Our room was quite disappointing. The first thing we noticed on entering was a strong damp smell, and the presence of a dehumidifier in the room suggested this is an ongoing issue. The room itself was very basic, with no tea or coffee facilities, and not even a complimentary bottle of water — small details that make a big difference, especially after a long day of travel.
The decor and atmosphere were rather cold and uninviting, and although the room was clean enough, it lacked any warmth or comfort. Breakfast was basic but adequate, nothing memorable but it did the job.
Given its potential and location, this hotel could easily improve with a bit more attention to detail — a few touches like a kettle, some coffee sachets, and an effort to address the damp issue would go a long way. We didn’t raise the issue with staff as it was only a short overnight stay and we had an early start for Machu Picchu, but it did leave us with a less-than-pleasant impression.
In short, Hotel Ferré Boulevard serves its purpose for a one-night stop, but it falls short of comfort and hospitality expectations. With some upgrades and care, it could be so much better.
