Excellent hotel where it is quiet

Great service, location, huge rooms, pool in the back for when it gets too hot and the drinks are always available. I really couldn't complain, it was top notch. Really enjoyed this place. There is a bidet, what more is there to say?

We wanted to fully explore Evora and booked a room for the evening. The hotel was an easy walk to all the sites in Evora, parking was a bit challenging within the city walls. It is an older hotel in the process of renovating some spaces.

Hotel with good amenities.

The hotel is very welcoming. The spacious room and the comfortable bed. The breakfast was very good. I do not advise a childless couple who wants to rest. Many children. A lot of shouting in the hallways, at breakfast, in the pool. The pool was good, but it turned out to be small for the number of people.

A six-night stay with lights and shadows

Six nights at the M’AR De AR Muralhas in Évora.
The setting is almost perfect: a hotel inserted into the medieval walls, with a generous garden and a pool that extends to the old wall. There is a silence that contrasts with the movement of the city and a particular light at the end of the afternoon that makes the space truly special. It is the kind of scenario that is sought when one wants to live Evora calmly.
The staff's sympathy was constant and genuine. From the reception to the restaurant and bar, always felt availability and attention. Small gestures that make a difference and give thanks, especially on a longer stay.
Meals are also worth mentioning. The breakfast is generous and well prepared. Lunches and dinners in the hotel restaurant maintain a consistent level, with dishes that respect the Alentejo tradition without losing quality. It's one of the strengths of the house.
But there are details that become impossible to ignore.
The cleaning of the bathroom revealed carelessness: these were situations that accumulated and that, in a hotel of this category, should not happen.
More disruptive was the systematic delay in the preparation of the room, in several days. Practical result: impossible to return in the middle of the afternoon to rest, especially after 15:00. When you spend the day exploring Évora under the sun of the Alentejo, arriving and not having the space available for a bath, a nap ends up conditioning the whole experience.
I understand the logistical challenges of a hotel. But the almost systematic delays make it clear that this is not an isolated unforeseen event.
The memory of the garden, the walls, the sympathy of the team and the quality of the meals remained. And it was also certain that small (and not so small) careless in the daily operation can shake what, in so many other aspects, had everything to be an excellent stay.

A good surprise

Nice hotel. Worried about the children. Rooms always clean and neat. Friendly team. Good food. We will definitely return.
