Delicious food and excellent service

What a great addition to the area. We had a fabulous dinner experience, great service and delicious food. Nothing was too much trouble for the team, so engaging and generally wanting to ensure you have a great time. We asked for a side order of bread with our starters, as it’s not on the menu, and the kitchen arranged chargrilled bread, it was perfect. We suggested they should add this on the menu …breads and dips! Well done, and as locals will be back. Great wine and drinks selection also.

So much to do in a beautiful setting with friendly staff. Would recommend!

We had a beautiful stay at Mad Swans. It was perfect for catching g up with friends over a round of golf and a game of padel. The personal touches in the cabin were beautiful and you really feel you are waking up in nature with a cuppa on the balcony in the morning. The granola bowl at breakfast was sensational. I loved the variety of activities. Playing shuffleboard and eating delicious pizzas was a highlight. All of the staff at Mad Swans were warm and friendly. We will be back!

Fun, exceptional food and cabin experience

I stayed for the weekend with my friends - we normally dabble in padel and have only played a few golf courses in our time learning. We loved the cabins, the food was exceptional and we enjoyed trying shuffleboard, darts and the driving range before taking a buggy out for 12 holes! Katy and her team are superb. We were well looked after by Andrew in the Potting Shed for dinner and Sophia for breakfast. Recommend the crispy duck salad, trout, steak and crab linguine!

Nice site and activities but be aware of costs

We went as a family and did a range of activities such as padel, driving range, putt patch and shuffle board. Staff were friendly and we had pizzas in the hangout which was really nice. Few things we were disappointed in which ended up costing us more money on top of what we had already booked/paid the padel court was £33 (off peak) but it wasn’t made clear they we had to pay additional £16 for padel racket hire. If they had the option when booking to hire the rackets on checkout then it would have made me think twice about booking as the whole thing cost £49 for 1hour!!! Ouch! As I said especially when I had spent so much money on all the other activities. I wouldn’t have minded if I got the money back for retuning the equipment!
We ordered x2 non alcoholic cocktails (it was my sons birthday) expecting them to be a bit more special then a standard coke, but they arrived like a standard drink and nothing different about them at all -this cost £16!
We had pizzas and ordered x3 cokes and x1 lemonade. When they bought the drinks over there was an extra coke which they added onto the order (my husband didn’t realise- was told the total and just paid) we didn’t need a 5th drink, but given no option of a refund for their mistake.
It is a lovley place, however these little things were a bit disappointing when we had already spent quite a bit on the actives and lunch. - we would go back but wouldn’t play padel (even though we really enjoyed it) and no cocktails for us :)

Could do better

Had Sunday lunch on the terrace, lovely setting, vegetables were well cooked and nice, gravy was lovely and plenty of it, we had the Suckling Pig and it was well cooked and lovely and plenty of it but the stuffing had a very strong flavour and a bit over powering and the crackling was not crispy but soft, potoes were fine but a bit miserly as we only had 2 each and can't comment on the Yorkshire puddings as the chef forgot to put them on our plates so they took a drink off the bill. Staff were very nice and friendly
