A different kind of hotel room....
Easy to get to unless you get stuck behind a skip lorry/tractor...ha ha. We loved the ambience and vibe of the place, really quirky and gives a real individual quality to the hotel.
We stayed in the Roederer Cristal room which was awesomely art deco, we loved the mirrors, chandelier, lamps, all of it. House champagne and chocolates were a nice touch too.
The hot tub and jacuzzi baths were amazing and great to relax in, we hardly got out of them for our stay.
Bar area felt like the pictures to watch a film in and the tea/coffee was well stocked. Only downside was having to YouTube the instructions for the Tassimo as I was stumped but they were easy enough to find and made a great coffee to be fair.
Plenty of towels and toiletries which makes a nice change from some places. Robes and slippers too, felt like Lex Luthor from Superman walking around in my robe!
Overall we had a great stay and hope to come again, it'll be difficult ti choose whether to go with the room we love or try a different one.

Tired room and ignorant management
Stayed here for a 40th birthday. There were far too many errors especially for the price and listed as ‘5 stars.’
I have tried complaining many times via email, but sadly the management have ignored every email.
Please see below for my complaint:
We stayed with you on Friday 26th June in room 16 LP Alexander. The room was lovely, however, rather tired with quite a few errors which for the price I wouldn’t expect.
1. The indoor spa had a broken button, a cap which kept falling off, and one of the taps were faulty. The broken button stopped the jets from fully working so this did affect the use and experience.
2. One of the lights were missing two bulbs, which again effected the use and took away from the beauty of it.
3. The wall next to the bathroom was infested with ants which was shocking and upsetting to think I slept next to that.
4. We found two balloons under the bed which suggests that the room wasn’t fully cleaned.
5. There were cobwebs in the corner of the rooms, again for the price wouldn’t expect this.
When dining with you on the Friday, I was served a cocktail in a glass which had 3 seperate cracks in it. We had the £70 steak to share which came over cooked either though we asked for it rare. The waitress did bring a smaller piece cooked correctly, but again for the price would expected it to be perfectly cooked the first time, especially as it was £70 for just a piece of steak with no sides which was extremely over price.
I look forward from hearing from you.

Lovely quirky pub with a great garden. I wouldn't stay again though..
I stayed her on one of the hottest days of the year so far. Admittedly I did book one of the cheaper rooms but I felt like I was a second class citizen.

When I asked what time breakfast was served, I was told my room does not qualify for breakfast even though the booking clearly stated it did. I was told I could pay for it.
The owner did buy me a glass of wine to make up for it, which whilst a nice gesture did not really make up for no breakfast.
Now for the room and my stay:
Plus points,
- Lovely Large towels
- A fridge in the room
- Nice bathroom
- 3 x Ferrero Rocher chocs
- 2 x bottles of water
- Negative points
- Tiny room, felt a bit tired too, mismatched furniture.
- Absolutely boiling, there was no air conditioning and the fan just moved the hot air around. I tried a pint glass of ice in front of the fan and that melted in 10 minutes.
- Furry cushions and throw on the bed did not help with the heat!!
- I got no sleep due to the heat and the noise of the fan.
- The bed had previously had a lot of use (!?) it was really uncomfortable
- There wasn't anywhere to hang clothes apart from a hook on the door, there were no coat hangers.
- I ordered the Lobster Thermidor for dinner, unfortunately it was not a thermidor sauce but the lobster was tasty.
I picked this place because it looked quirky and was relatively near to my meeting the following day. I wouldn't stay again. I think unless you are going for one of their £300+ rooms they are not really interested.
The barmaid was lovely.

Would not return again
We stayed with you on 23rd April in the Piper Heidsieck room.
During our stay, we reported a concerning incident in which someone attempted to enter our room on three occasions at approximately 4:00am, and also tried other rooms along the corridor.
At the time, you expressed concern and assured us that CCTV footage would be reviewed to determine what had occurred and whether the individual could be identified. You also confirmed that you would follow up with us by email regarding the outcome of your investigation.
As you can appreciate, this was a very distressing experience for us, particularly as we were two women alone in the room. The incident left us feeling extremely unsettled, and we were unable to return to sleep afterwards.
We are therefore very disappointed that we have not received any update from you. The lack of communication does not give us confidence that the matter has been fully investigated, nor does it reassure us regarding the safety and security measures in place for guests.
This stay was meant to be a special occasion, as it was my wife’s birthday, and unfortunately this incident had a significant negative impact on our experience.
We would appreciate a prompt update on the outcome of your investigation.

Fishy fish
Just been for a family dinner today, I must say from the last time I had been they must of changed the kitchen staff/chef. I love a fish n chips and my husband takes me all over, now the time I came here before today I had the best fish and chips I had ever had and that’s saying something!!! Today I was in short shocked the fish itself smelt and the batter looked as if it had been cooked and laid on the side. If your going today don’t have fish n chips .. the staff were all fantastic she suggested a free pudding and I suggested they do something on the bill, she took my dinner off for which I was pleased as I can honestly say the chef needs to get his act together x
