No windows, no light, no fresh air. The room was clean. But your front door opens onto a common area, where three German hipsters were making dinner in the kitchenette, playing pool and watching TV loudly all night. There’s no soundproofing, so be prepared for a roommates vibe.
Digital check-in. Not a single staff member on site. I needed help with my room. I texted and called for four hours. Only at 10p did they finally get back to me. “Our phone lines aren’t working properly.” Sure.
Part of my frustration is my fault. I didn’t read anything before I showed up. But that’s the problem. Most lodgers want to show up, give a name, get a room & go to bed. Standing outside rifling through a dozen messages to find a door code or Wi-Fi is literally the last thing you want to do when exhausted from getting there.
It should be noted that the bed is absolutely amazing. I was about to give another star, but this is counterbalanced by the wafer-thin walls, which make half the reason why you’d enjoy a great bed moot. (Good luck being romantic here.)
You can’t beat the price (£69). All my complaints equate to £ saved on the booking.
But upon showering, I noticed a simply disgusting wad of hair caked to the shower cord. I was sincerely grossed-out.
When I left, I really needed a bag check so I could explore the city – but it would be silly of me to expect a hotel to act like a hotel.

Good for what I needed but unusual layout if you are not expecting it! Each room looks out into the communal space.

We had a five star waitress

We did private dining at coal shed Brighton on 30th Jan our waitress was Posie made our night she was excellent so attentive all evening
