"Wasn't the birthday experience I was expecting, check your statement"
We were given a complimentary upgrade at check in, which was a nice touch, but the TV in the room was surprisingly small and was mounted off to the side rather than centrally on the wall. If this was the upgraded room, I'm curious what the standard rooms look like. An iPad on the wall, maybe? The spa is in a lower level area with low ceilings, so taller guests should be mindful.
More seriously: I'd already paid £165 for the room in full online in advance. At check in, my wife tapped her card once for a £50 security deposit. After we checked out and were en route back to London, we checked our online credit card statement and found three separate charges: £50, £115, and £165, despite the room already being prepaid and only one card tap made.
I had to bring this to the hotel's attention directly, with several back and forth emails to Front of House Manager Alex, including screenshot evidence of all three transactions. It turned out to be a "system error" on their end, and after a few working days, the full amount was refunded.
I've stayed at Harbour Hotel Richmond before and had a much better experience. No multiple charges, no excuses needed. Bristol didn't live up to that standard this time.
Room itself was comfortable and the location by the harbour is great.

Most importantly, we sincerely apologise for the billing error following your stay. We completely understand how concerning it must have been to discover multiple unexpected charges after you had already paid for your room in full. We're also sorry that you had to contact us and provide evidence before the matter could be resolved.
While we're glad that our Front of House Manager was able to investigate the system error and ensure the full amount was refunded, this clearly wasn't the smooth and reassuring experience we aim to provide.
Thank you again for bringing this to our attention. We hope we'll have the opportunity to welcome you back in the future and provide the standard of experience you rightly expected from Harbour Hotels.

Mattress topper only the size of double bed and we had upgraded to king size bed. Housekeeping had to come and rectify.
Bed was also very high and proved a challenge to get onto!
Large step into the bathroom which was difficult to manage with slight mobility issues.
Staff were helpful.
