A Unique Experience
We recently stayed in Boaty, one of the hotel’s hideaway huts, and it was one of the most relaxing and memorable getaways we’ve ever had.
From the moment we arrived, everything felt peaceful and idyllic. Nestled beside the beautiful lake and surrounded by trees, Boaty offered a unique sense of privacy and tranquillity. Waking up to the sounds of nature, rowing across the water, and relaxing in the private hot tub while taking in the stunning surroundings made for a truly romantic experience.
The accommodation itself was fantastic – comfortable, well-equipped, and thoughtfully designed to make the most of the beautiful setting. Every detail helped create a calm and luxurious atmosphere. The skylight above the bed was a wonderful addition to the hut, which also came with a fully stocked complimentary minibar and snacks. Nice touches.
Every member of staff we encountered was warm, welcoming, and incredibly helpful, ensuring we felt looked after throughout our visit.
The food was equally impressive. The fish in Hook was delicious (we had the katsu cod and plaice), with excellent quality ingredients and great service to match. Full breakfast in the morning was superb as well.
If you’re looking for a romantic retreat where you can completely switch off, reconnect with nature, and enjoy a touch of luxury, we couldn’t recommend Boaty highly enough. An incredible experience from start to finish, and we’ve already booked to come back in the summer.

Perfect Valentine’s Getaway
My boyfriend and I stayed at The Fish for Valentine’s Day and had a wonderful experience. We stayed in the “Bottom” Hideaway Hut, which was clean, cosy, and beautifully designed! It was such a lovely and relaxing space, which is exactly what we were after.
We had dinner on Valentine’s night at Hook, and the food was absolutely incredible. All of the staff were friendly and accommodating, and our waitress, Hannah, was especially lovely. She made us feel so welcome throughout the evening.
There are also so many beautiful walks in and around the estate, and it’s great to see plenty of facilities available for dogs.
We’re already looking to come again! I can’t recommend this hotel enough

The best escape, worth every penny!
I recently stayed at The Fish Hotel and had such a lovely experience. The rooms were beautifully done, really cosy while still feeling luxurious, and the surroundings were absolutely stunning. The staff were incredibly welcoming and attentive, which made the whole stay feel effortless and relaxing. The food was excellent too, and the atmosphere throughout the hotel was chic but still very laid-back. I’d absolutely recommend it for a countryside escape and would definitely stay again.

A perfect weekend getaway.
Amazing hotel, THE most dog friendly place I have stayed in. The staff go above and beyond to make sure your stay is as comfortable and enjoyable as possible. The adventure experiences are fantastic. We did tractor driving and duck herding. We were there to celebrate my sisters 80th birthday and the staff helped to make it so special. Shout out to the chef on the feasting deck (Saturday 30th May) who produced an amazing meal for us. The waiting staff who were so attentive and to all the staff who worked so hard and always with a beaming smile. Thank you.

Almost perfect but could still improve
This is a really beautiful place in a wonderful location. No a/c in the rooms which needs to be addressed and issues with service, especially in the bar, which became irritating. If these can be resolved it really is a great place to stay.

I’m sorry that parts of the experience didn’t match the standard we aim to deliver.
The lack of air conditioning in some of our rooms is something we’re very aware of, particularly during warmer periods, and it’s something we work hard to remedy. I’m also disappointed to hear about the service in the bar, that’s not the level of service we expect to deliver.
