A great stay

A fantastic stay overnight. Everything was perfect.
The room was very comfortable and the bathroom was exceptional.
All the staff were helpful, friendly and informative and we couldn’t ask for a better reception when we arrived
Our evening meal was really good - fantastic Sunday dinner and the Guinness pie was one of the best I’ve tasted
Breakfast was also superb! Thank you for a great stay and yes, we look forward to returning soon

Wonderful stay for a wedding

We stayed at the Wilding for a family wedding. The checking in on line was really easy. Our room was lovely, very comfortable.
The food and service at the pre wedding drinks was excellent. But best of all I would say was the excellent breakfast.

Outstanding.

Outstanding service from start to finish. Our dinner plans were suddenly cancelled as the chef was ill. So the owner drive us to a local restaurant and collected us afterwards. Our room is marvellous, bed comfy, strong wifi. An all round brilliant stay.

Disappointed.

Have just returned from here after having Sunday lunch and I have to say my partner and I are extremely disappointed. The building itself is lovely with ample parking at the rear of the premises, accessed from the site. The interior is really nice and the seating arrangements are also good. We had reserved a table for two and it was well set out with comfortable chairs and not too close to other diners. We introduced ourselves on arrival and were seated promptly. We were given menus and shown the drinks menu on the table and the server said she would be back in 2 mins to take our drinks order. No one returned for 15 mins. When a different server returned and asked what drinks we would like we placed a drinks order then asked if we could also place our food order. My partner ordered the sirloin at £24.50 and I ordered the mixed meat at £27. Approximately 15 mins later the food arrived with a different server again, however,we still had not received our drinks. The server asked if needed any sauces etc. I asked for mint. By the time she arrived back approximately 5 mins later we had realised we had not received any mash, a gravy boat and cauliflower cheese. All were stated on the menu. In addition my partner had received the sirloin which arrived with 2 decent slices of meat, however my mixed meat was 1 slice of sirloin with 2 small pieces of pork. I received less meat for £2.50 extra. We still hadn’t received our drinks so I asked them to cancel the drinks order. Once we had finished, no one came to clear our plates or ask if we wanted any desert so i went and asked for the bill. The food we had was nice, good quality and tasty. The experience was pretty poor though.

Fabulous friendly hotel

Just returned from a 3 night stay and we will definitely be back at the Wilding what a wonderful experience we had . We stayed in the disabled garden access suite with my disabled brother all our needs were catered for. Rooms were spacious and the facilities were great . We were travelling with our family who all stayed there and we all had a great experience. The service was fantastic and the team were REALLY friendly and helpful nothing was too much trouble. The location was great its quite central for the Lakes .
