Lovely decent sized suite rooms, Staff are brilliant and very accommodating to my travel needs working away here, my no.1 stay when it’s available for me, they go above and beyond to make my stay nice and relaxed, Restaurant is great, easy over a weeks selection to choose from, and staff great, Alex is a star server

I can only assume the recent 10/10 reviews for this hotel were either paid for or there’s a separate wing of the hotel which has been pulled back out of the 1980s.
Our room was big, but it was so tired and outdated we felt like we were in a $10 a night American roadside motel. The switches were yellowed from age, the bathroom was dirty (hairs in the shower), the hairdryer didn’t work and that’s just a selection of the issues. The reception staff weren’t very friendly and didn’t point out where any of the amenities were when we checked in. It’s right next to a train line, so if you’re in the back of the hotel it’s pretty noisy with trains running every 15mins or so throughout the day. It did seem quieter at night but the rumbling of trains was definitely still there.
They clearly focus on weddings, so I can only assume the areas for that have been modernised and they do perhaps have newer rooms they reserve for wedding parties. The rest of the hotel is in a sorry state, I would recommend looking for somewhere else to spend your hard earned money than this place.

Hotel

Some beds were soft yet others were rock solid. Hard to get a good nights sleep in beds like those. Breakfast was nice and warm and hotel was clean. If you don’t pay for breakfast when you book, it’s £17pp and definitely wasn’t worth that.

Wedding

We honestly couldn’t have asked for a better wedding venue. From the very beginning, everything was handled so professionally, and the whole team made the planning process stress-free.
A huge thank you to David and Warren for making our day run so smoothly and perfectly. Your hard work, attention to detail, and calm approach meant we could relax and enjoy every single moment. We’re so grateful for everything you did for us.
Please also pass on our thanks to all of the staff. Everyone went above and beyond to make sure we, and all of our guests, were looked after. The service was exceptional, and nothing was ever too much trouble.
The venue itself is absolutely beautiful, and we’ve had so many compliments from our family and friends about how amazing everything was. We will treasure the memories of our wedding day forever.
Thank you all for giving us the most perfect day. We would recommend this venue to anyone looking for an unforgettable wedding experience!

Swimming pool looked nice, arrived to late to use it, great selection of beers available, restaurant has a big wide menu of really good food at reasonable prices
