Excellent overnight stay. Great evening meal, lovely pub!

Had an excellent overnight stay. Really friendly team. Spacious room with everything needed. Enjoyed our evening meal, lovely atmosphere in the pub. Our dogs were made to feel very welcome!

Excellent family lunch - recommend

First rate lunch. We had the pie of the day (lamb and mint), braised chicken (fabulous) and the spicy chicken burger (just the right spice), but to be fair we were spoilt for choice and could have chosen any of the 20 or so dishes. Great ingredients and lovely cooking. Service was spot on too.

Dirty bedroom

Staff were friendly and the food was pleasant but the accommodation was very poor.
Bedroom was very dirty. Full of cobwebs and dirt in all the corners. I found a diary behind my bedside table when I went to plug my phone in. Obviously no one had checked the room and this should have been found if anyone en cleaned the room.

Good food and excellent beer

We stopped here during a walk for a Sunday lunch - really tasty lamb, with lots of gravy. And the real ale selection and quality was excellent too. We would recommend coming back again - definitely a good choice.

Food visit only

We ate here last night and the food was pretty good - the cottage pie was excellent; the sole wasn't that tasty and the accompanying chips over-cooked. May be a family-managed place now with Mum on the bar (?) who was was working very hard but still friendly :) and daughters helping out (?) + Sheldon who was working here when we used to stay years ago. Still, great food for Cricklade !
