Weekend caravan trip

We visited the Black Swann Inn caravan site as a family with a young toddler recently. We booked quite last minute as it is only around 30 mins from our home and we wanted to practice using the caravan with our young child but not be too far from home if it all went wrong! The village the pub and campsite is in is lovely and peaceful and the site itself was very quiet even over a busy weekend with almost every pitch full. It did seem that there were maybe a few too many vans on site as not much extra space around the site so not much privacy and only one ablution block for all on site which I don't think anyone cleaned whilst we were there. We found the bar staff to be friendly and got a takeout meal for dinner one night which was lovely. Only complaint would be that at breakfast we decided to get a take out bacon roll as we were packing our van away. We picked up the breakfast and walked back down to the bottom of the field to find it was cheap wholemeal bread not a bacon bap as described and the ketchup was all over the outside of the bread. Really strange to advertise a bacon bap on the menu and then serve cheap wholemeal bread without mentioning anything at the time of ordering and the only thing that let the site down for us. We would come back again but wouldn't bother with breakfast from the pub again. Great site for dogs as their is a footpath straight out of the camping field.

We wouldn’t recommend this hotel to anyone.
Do not book this room for 3 people. Apparently, according to the property and Hotels.com, you can sleep 2 adults and 1 child (up to the age of 17) in a king size bed!!
The manager was rude and unhelpful, however the members of staff that checked us in was lovely.
The floor of the room was filthy, with clumps of hair and dust in the corners. There also looked like something had been spilt on the floor and not cleaned properly.
We cannot speak to the food as we didn’t eat in the restaurant but the meals we saw looked decent.

Had a really good stay at The Black Swan Inn. The room was clean and comfortable, the staff were friendly and welcoming, and the pub served great food and drinks. It's in a quiet, beautiful location in Fearby and makes a solid base for exploring the local area. No complaints at all—would happily stay here again.

Great food

Absolutely lovely food! The fish and chips were honestly some of the best I’ve had, and the full English was really good too. Everything was fresh, hot and full of flavour.

It was a very pleasant stay, the views were to die for! What a beautiful area to visit!. The staff were friendly and helpful, the food was good and the bar had a nice atmosphere.
We would stay there again!
