Travelling through Scotland

What a beautiful hotel and location. 15 to 20 minutes walk into Fort August to see the Caledonian Canal and Loch Ness. The hotel is clean, the bedrooms are spacious and the beds very comfortable. Staff are attentive and friendly. Would recommend this as a base to travel or just relax.

Good place to stay. It is what I was expecting and the staff were great. I booked an included breakfast which was pretty good. We ate at the restaurant one night and good value and convenient. The property is quaint and not new...but with character and pretty well looked after. it was one of my favourite places to stay on our UK trip. The property could benefit from a few upgrades in terms of some landscaping around the mobile home next to the hotel (whI I think is part of the same proerty) and a canopy at the east end of the hotel to hide the view of the rubbish bins and other unsightly items from windows facing that way. Also, the hotel advertises air conditioning which I didn't see any evidence of in the room, so keep that in mind when considering this property. That said, the highland nights were cool (even during the heatwave that was happneing downs south in England at the time) and opeining the windows was plenty cool.

Want to come back to Scotland just to spend a couple/few nights at the property. The view, room, and food were all great.

Great!

We stayed 1 night in this hotel in July 2026.
Having paid €250 per room, we expected something good and we were not disappointed. The hotel is very large, with a Scottish charm, a large lounge, and a superb view of Loch Ness. The two rooms we booked were superb, spacious, and clean. The bedding was great. The hotel has a large parking lot for parking.
We ate at the restaurant and found it good (although a bit expensive). Same for breakfast, very good; the hotel offered both a cold buffet and hot dishes à la carte.
Regarding the location, we did not leave the hotel on foot, so I cannot comment.

Relaxing time in a beautiful locale

I stayed here with my family for a night as we drove through several areas of Scotland. The hotel is on a beautiful property overlooking Loch Ness. We spent time enjoying the scenery on the front lawn and playing cards in the lounge. It's an old building (which is what we were looking for), so of course some things may show some age or wear. Honestly though, it felt cleaner than most older hotels I've stayed in and the bathroom had been updated so I'd mark this in the pro category. The food was great and my son has decided Cullen Skink is his new favorite soup. Last but not least, big thanks to Jay for his hospitality. We got there in the midst of a check-in rush but he handled the front desk, bar, and dining room expertly while making us feel right at home. We hope to get back to Scotland, and a longer stay at the Inch will be on our itinerary.
