Outlander, Kelpies & The Wheel
Ideally located for visiting multiple Outlander locations; Culross, Blackness, Linlithgow, Hopetoun House & Lalybroch all within 30minutes drive and Falkland, about an hour away! Dunfermline & South Queensferry also worth a visit whilst doing this day trip by road.
The Kelpies are only 15 minutes walk so ideal for an evening visit to see them illuminated, Fabulous!
All roads in Falkirk seem to be signposted to The Wheel. It's a fantastic piece on engineering but in reality nowadays it's just a tourist attraction with an underwhelming and expensive boat trip cum white (???) knuckle ride and a playpark.
The hotel itself is good. We had an 'executive' room in the original building. A good sized room with high ceilings and large windows, comfy bed and modernish bathroom. The wooden sash windows could do with a lick of paint and the three broken floor tiles in the bathroom should be replaced before somebody gets a cut on their foot!
Breakfast in Rosie's Tearoom was a bit disappointing. Not much choice other than standard Cooked Breakfast fayre.
We ate two nights in Cook's which was good both times. Excellent service and food. It's was busy though, so best to book a table here as there aren't may alternative options locally.

Thank you for your review @257coling, great to hear that you enjoyed your stay and you appear to have sampled lots of the local attractions, the hotel has a great location for the central belt as well as Edinburgh and Glasgow

Convenient hotel just off the M9.
Friendly staff and dinner and breakfast was good.
Plenty of parking available.
Negatives for me were the elevator being out of action and although it just 2 floors I found it difficult to get upstairs with my suitcase.
Also outdoor furniture and area was a little tired.
These details wouldn’t stop me from staying again.

Disappointing stay.
Well situated hotel situated in lovely well maintained grounds. Staff helpful and professional. However, room was disappointing. It was necessarily dirty. Window voile curtains ripped and hanging loose from rail. Windows jammed shut and rotting. Bathroom extractor very heavily full of dust. Some other marked areas that shouldn't be. However, bed was clean and comfortable. Breakfast was charged at over £12 per person. The traditional breakfast was good but my husband chose boiled eggs.Two boiled eggs £12 , really?? Even the room cups had chips.
Our bill for the room was over £200. Sadly I feel this was not a fair price.

I am sorry that you were unable to take full advantage of our breakfast which includes a cold buffet selection of cereal, fruit, meat, cheese, pastries & fruit juice of which you can help yourself as much as you like, along with a plated hot option, the team will prepare and top up as necessary toast, tea and coffee at the table, lots of choice to keep people full all day

Room was spacious but need a revamp and deep clean. Staff have helpful. Breakfast was excellent. No trouble parking. . Easy to find about a quarter mile from motorway.

Hotel was a little dated in the rooms. Had a musty and mouldy smell in my room, shower was broken and wouldn't stay in holder, toilet made a huge noise when flushed probably waking up the whole hotel and room smelt musty and mouldy. Asked for a fan and one got delivered and when I came back to hotel later that evening I found it didn't work
