I can highly recommend this place

I stayed here in my camper van in April, the hospitality and food were amazing and the view's were stunning. My parents wanted to join me for a day's walking and wanted to stay in a B&B afterwards. Im so glad that I recommend this one. They were blown away with the service, food and room (which had underfloor heating) I can't wait to stay here again

Cosy meal for two with dog

Roaring open fire to meet you, lovely friendly attentive staff to greet you, dog friendly - a plus for us. Lovely home made pie rammed with quality meat. Proper Country Pub with lots of other facilities. Highly recommend!

Lovely local pub

Lovely local pub in very scenic location.
Had the beef Sunday dinner and was very tasty.
Only small inside but ideal if you want a quiet place out of the way.

Unimpressed

Not particularly impressed, the food was not great especially for the price. My wife ordered the fish and chips and asked if she could exchange the peas for a salad garnish as she has done many times on our travels around the country, unbelievably they wanted an additional charge of £6.00.

This wasn't just about the pea and salad swap but about the matter that we were not happy with you filling your transit van campervan water tank up. We are on Britstop and allow campervan and motor homes to stay free of charge as long as you use the facility within reason. Our water supply is from a bolehole and is metered. It is for the use to replenish small items only, such as your kettle and for a general wash. You wanted to on this occasion, fill your tank for showers. Site like ours are not suitable and really you should have booked on to a site with the correct facilities.
Your bill on Saturday night, for 3 guests came to less than £60, which i feel is very reasonable for an overnight stay, free water, waste facilities, meals and beverages for 3 people. I am aware that the waitress did say, when taking your order that there would a difference in prices for swapping garden/mushy peas for a fresh garden salad, which is more expensive. This was not charged as you have stated.
Thank you for bringing this to my attention, i am in the process of changing the wording and description on Britstop to avoid, as you pointed our any confusion for any future stay overs.

Great place, great value, lovely staff.

Booked directly with Andrea a couple of hours before arrival. She couldn't have been more friendly and helpful. Gorgeous evening meal, piping hot, quality food. Room great value for money. Spotlessly clean, comfy bed. Breakfast was fabulous. Great choices and fully included in an already great price. Staff were all so friendly and attentive. Highly recommended. Perfect location for exploring the area.
