Fantastic , lovely stay , excellent host. Our second visit and lovely to see the new garden area and how the hotel has transformed within our last visit a year ago. We will be back.

What a lovely place to stay. The staff were very friendly and accommodating. Food was really good quality and tasty. Would absolutely stay again. Lovely church next door that’s worth a visit.

I had to leave did not stay . After a long day on the road I arrived and booked in . The room needed a complete overhaul . I’m in the flooring trade and the carpets were a cheap domestic quality not suitable for the insulation . They were worn and dirty . I put the shower on and the shower tray filled up with water and flooded the bathroom . I’m sure that water then would have gone through the ceiling . I asked the young girl behind the bar to be moved to another room but no double rooms were available . There was no manager for me to speak to . Also the restaurant was closed on a Tuesday which I was not aware of . All in all it was a bad experience after a long day on the road . So unfortunately I had to pack up and leave . She assured me that I wouldn’t be charged but it’s still showing up on my bank account . For a business traveller this is a definite no no . Sorry for this review but I’m extremely disappointed .

Our Happy Place

Llancarfan is a pretty village truly blessed having this very special inn at its heart. It is our favourite place to lunch, dine, drink and stay in the Vale of Glamorgan. You can be assured of a genuine, warm welcome , friendly and professional service and superb cooking from its kitchen. The menu is small but carefully composed of pub classics with a modern twist. There are also some specials on the board - all perfectly cooked and artistically presented. The Bar is inviting in Winter and our preferred place to eat with a roaring fire but in the Summer, the new terrace alongside a little brook is enchanting with comfortable chairs and a view of the ancient church which is well worth a visit to see some remarkable medieval frescoes. The Fox & Hounds is our perfect happy place and I hope you will think so too.
