Check in was a bit of a faff, I'd checked in online, but still had to go through it all at the hotel, apart from that, couldn't really fault it....staff were very good, room clean and tidy, breakfast was simple, but very good.... definitely will stay there again

Great central hotel
great location, compact room but well equipped , dressing gowns , large towels quality white company products and nespresso pods . Air com didn work but fan available . Would stay again

No air conditioning in hot rooms!
Beware of renovations! The air conditioning in the rooms is currently switched off due to renovations taking place on the 4th floor. The rooms are very hot at night. Reception gave us fans and suggested we open a window. If we had know this at the time of booking, we would have gone elsewhere. Family room on 3rd floor was small for the price, although the bathroom was spacious. Average breakfast. Not that impressed.

Misleading Listing, Frustrating Experience
We booked The Blanford Hotel specifically because it was advertised online as having air conditioning. Unfortunately, when we arrived, we found out the hotel does not have AC. Since we were traveling during a heat wave, this was a major issue and absolutely not what we thought we were booking. We ultimately did not stay at the hotel because of this.
The elevator was also not working, which was another major inconvenience, especially with luggage.
We were told we would receive a refund because of the situation, but we are now going back and forth with the hotel trying to get the refund that was promised. It still has not been received, which has made an already frustrating experience even worse.
They also charge £10 per hour for early check-in. While I understand hotels can charge for this, watching other guests arrive and seeing how it was handled made the whole process feel unnecessarily transactional and, honestly, a little scammy.
Overall, just a really bad experience. The hotel was advertised as having AC, it didn’t, we couldn’t stay there because of it, and now we’re having to chase down a refund that was promised. I would strongly recommend confirming the AC situation directly with the hotel before booking and being very cautious about relying on the amenities listed online.

Your room was not sold as an air-conditioned room, as we do not advertise air conditioning as a standard feature at the time you booked. However, your room is fitted with an air conditioning unit, and we have been doing our best to keep it operational during the current period of exceptionally hot weather.
As explained, the unusually high temperatures in London have caused the external condensers to overheat and automatically switch themselves off. Our maintenance team reset the system yesterday, which restored the air conditioning, and we have done the same again today. We will continue to reset the system whenever necessary to help keep it running.
Our colleagues also offered you a fan to make the room more comfortable, but we understand you chose not to accept this option.
Unfortunately, we are unable to offer compensation on this occasion, as the room was not booked with air conditioning as an advertised amenity and this issue has been caused by the exceptional weather conditions currently affecting London.
As a gesture of goodwill, however, we would be delighted to offer you a discounted rate on a future stay at any of our Capilon Hotels in London. We would very much welcome the opportunity to provide you with a more enjoyable experience under normal circumstances.
