Towels were odd sizes and one was dirty. We had breakfast it was spoiled slightly by hard poached eggs. Staff were friendly. Decor a little out there and mixed.

It a 5 Star **Avoid**

Two female business travellers booked here for one night. We checked in and checked straight back out.
I genuinely cannot understand how this hotel is advertised as five star. The condition and cleanliness were completely unacceptable. The room and surrounding areas felt dirty and neglected, and what we found around the bathroom fittings was disgusting. The photographs speak for themselves.
Part of the building also appeared to be being used as flats, which added to the very strange atmosphere. As two women travelling for business, we did not feel comfortable or safe staying here.
We left almost immediately and found alternative accommodation. I have stayed in basic hotels and hostels that have felt considerably cleaner, safer and more welcoming than this.
I am still in shock that this was sold to us as five-star accommodation. It was nothing remotely like the standard we expected or had paid for.
If I could give this hotel zero stars, I would. I would not recommend it, particularly to women travelling alone or for business.

Mixed stay

My stay at this hotel is quite mixed. While the room was spacious and the rest of the services were generally acceptable, the establishment itself is a bit dated and could really use a refresh or modernization. My biggest disappointment remains the view: I had chosen this hotel specifically for the Thames, but I unfortunately ended up with a room facing the interior, which was not great. Furthermore, the location is quite far from the city center, which you have to cross entirely to get there. Fortunately, there is a bus stop right next door, which makes it easy to get around. A decent stay, but remember to check the orientation of your room when booking!

Avoid Avoid Avoid!

Avoid. Avoid. Avoid.
The stay itself started well, but the way this hotel handled my payment completely ruined the experience.
I booked through Hotels.com and paid the required 25% deposit when I made the reservation. On arrival, reception claimed I still owed the full amount. I showed them my booking confirmation, which clearly confirmed the deposit had already been paid. They accepted this and told me that if there were any issues at checkout, I could contact Hotels.com. That was the end of the conversation.
After I checked out, I discovered the hotel had taken an additional payment from my card without my knowledge or authorisation. There was no pre-authorisation, no notification, and no request for my consent. They simply charged the card details associated with my booking.
When I contacted the hotel to challenge the transaction, I was told that Hotels.com had supplied them with my card details. This turned out to be untrue. I then had to spend my own time contacting Hotels.com, providing proof of the payments I had already made. After reviewing the evidence, Hotels.com agreed to refund me. During this process, the hotel also gave Hotels.com misleading information about why the additional payment had been taken.
Mistakes can happen, but what matters is how a business responds. Instead of acknowledging the issue and resolving it honestly, I was given inaccurate explanations and left to sort everything out myself.
An accommodation provider should never take payment without clearly informing the guest or obtaining their authorisation. The entire experience left me with serious concerns about the hotel's payment practices and customer service.
I cannot recommend staying here and would certainly not return.

The hotel and the room was ok. Would choose another hotel if going back to Battersea.
