Great Stay
Spent a very enjoyable few days at this pub. Large clean room and ensuite with extra large towels, plus plenty of drawer space. The staff were very helpful and friendly, nothing was too much trouble. We also enjoyed several delicious meals and can highly recommend a stay here. The only drawback was the distance from the town centre and although there was a bus stop outside very few buses stopped there.

Great place to stay. Will book again.
Great place to stay. Staff are fantastic and helpful. We stayed with my parents who have mobility issues and I told the MBH when booking. As soon as my booking was complete I recieved a phone call from Karen explaining that there was a narrow windy staircase up to the room and offered help for the duration of the stay.
Rooms were spotlessy clean and well maintaned, ours had a bath and shower, parents room had a walk in shower which was ideal for them.
The B&B is situated on a main road so can be quite noisy, but ear plugs are considerately provided.
Tea and (decaf) coffee and biscuits are in the room.
Full breakfast was very good and cooked fesh to order.
We eat our evening meals in the beer garden. Again the staff working in this area were hard working and couldn't do enough to ensure that we were looked after.
Great beers/lagers from the onsite brewery, King of the Swingers being my favourite. Good selection of wines.
Evening meals were fantastic, good choice and a specials board that changed daily.
Our first night, Sunday, there was live music entertainment on which was very good but not intrusive.
Overall an excellent place to stay, all the staff are hard working and friendly. Special thanks to Karen, Sam and Emily.

Was great all round
Stayed in room 1 lovely and clean had long bubbly bath! Bed really comfortable, food delicious with entertainment such a good atmosphere from staff and other customers! Breakfast was absolutely first class with housekeeper Tina cooking it lovely and fresh, nothing was too much trouble for her they’ve certainly found a gem in her! So friendly too. Will definitely be back

Relaxing Stay
We booked a 4 night stay at the Monkey Brewhouse in February (Thurs-Monday) we stayed in room 3.
There is a large bathroom with walk-in shower, the bedroom is small-ish but that's fine this over looks the main road but with the secondary glazing you cannot hear the road & there are blackout curtains.
The mattress comfort is a personal thing & I appreciate that not every mattress suits all, but for us it was a little on the firm side with noisy springs!! lol
There is not a wardrobe as such (I believe this is down to space) but a hanging frame with 6/7 hangers, the draws for your other items are small but functionable.
The first night we ate in the pub I had Pork belly & my wife had fish & chips lovely. we ate out on Friday & Sunday but on Saturday we had another meal, I have the Panache of fish (4 different fish) absolutely fabulous & its the first time I've heard my wife say that she had 'Food Envy' lol she had mushroom spaghetti which she did enjoy.
I chose this pub due to reviews, location & that it had a Micro brewery which severed a lot of its own ales & lager.
The restaurant was always very busy from lunchtime to evenings, parking is very limited to approx. 15 cars so it's a 'first come first park situation'.
The staff Sam, Josh, Sam, Freya, Tina Mark (head chef) & many more are great they are all very friendly & sociable & make you feel very welcome.
Unfortunately due to a family illness we had to cut short our stay leaving on the 3rd evening but nevertheless it was an enjoyable break.

Fun place for a good meal and/or nights rest
This was just a great place all around. We arrived after dark but just before the start of dinner time for the pub. We were greeted by a pleasant staff and quickly taken to our room. We were able to get unpacked and cleaned up after a long day, in time for our dinner reservations in the pub. Service there was great too. The food and drink were terrific. The lamb special was amazing, as well as the chicken roast. We especially liked the roasted potatoes and turnips. The locally made porter went well with both. We finished off the night with more drinks from the bar and listening to a fun band in the pub area.
The room was great, too. Looked newly refurbished plenty of space, comfortable bed, and pillows. Breakfast in the morning was good too, offering from a light breakfast to full English. We would return given the opportunity .
