Great overnight stay.

We stayed there after a walk nearby and was greeted with a very warm welcome. Showed up to the rooms which were well equipped and clean. Ate in the bar, the food was lovely, I can highly recommend the pie. The ladies serving were professional and very friendly.
Breakfast the next day was served quickly. It was hot and very filling.
All in all it was a lovely stay and we will be going back. Thank you.

Need to update menu !

Been coming for food for a while now, the meat eaters in the family love it but for us veggies there isn’t a good choice at all . The broccoli bake was like eating a bland bowl of mush ( twice now ) won’t be having again . Other than that it’s either jacket spuds, nut roast or a salad . I previously had cheese salad and it was pitiful, no coleslaw or anything just a lot of lettuce with tiny bit of tomato cucumber onion and cheese. Come on hogs head you need to give the vegetarians more options . Where has the pasta option gone ? Or a veggie curry ?

A Local Treasure

I have been using the Hogs Head restaurant on and off for a number of years and I have never been disappointed. Good food, good service and very well priced. The Sunday lunch carvery is well worth a special mention but you have to book in advance to ensure a table. A large car park in a rural setting just off the A610 with good access to the M1 and Nottingham city. Recommended

Dreadful room, lacklustre service

What a nightmare we’ve endured! Maybe because we got the room through Booking.com but our room and our experience didn’t match anything on the website or this site or even Booking.com - especially the photos!
The bedroom was tiny. The bed was like a trampoline so every time my partner or I moved the other was woken by the movement as we were flung around on our side of the bed!
The walls are so thin you can hear everything from other rooms and at 7.10 an alarm went off on the electric radiator.
The breakfast was ok but we had to go looking for the server and when we left there was no goodbye or hope expressed that we had had a good stay; just a perfunctory glance as we handed back the key.
Don’t waste your money!

Great Friendly Staff with superb Home made food

What an absolute pleasure to visit The Hoggs Head for lunch. All the staff particularly Maddie were so friendly and helpful. The food is delicious home made fare. Something you get rarely these days.
The gravy's to die for.
Would certainly recommend.
Can't wait for our next visit.
