I spent a week at Oban Backpackers. Excellent welcome. The staff is top-notch. Very helpful, very clean place, respect for everyone, an obvious meeting place if you are not shy, you feel at home. Close to everything, shops, ferry to the islands... Oban is beautiful. Highly recommended +++ Eliane

Snoring Hell

I booked a stay here ahead of an early 5:00 am departure, expecting a basic place to sleep. Unfortunately, severe snoring in my dorm made it completely impossible to sleep. While I understand hostels cannot control other guests' noise, the way the night staff handled the situation was completely unacceptable.When I politely asked the lady on night duty if there was any possibility of changing rooms, she was incredibly rude and hostile. Because of her unhelpful attitude and lack of empathy (“we are full” not even asking why I was asking?!), I was forced to spend the entire night sitting awake downstairs in the lounge just to get away from the noise.I paid for a bed to rest, but instead, I spent my night on a sofa feeling unwelcome by the staff. I am highly disappointed with the lack of customer service and would not recommend staying here if you actually need a reliable night's rest before traveling.

Such a cool little town. The accom is well located and served its purpose. Quite simple yet clean and comfortable

SCAMMERS!

Absolutely garbage service. These people are only looking to scam you. Was told one thing on the phone and then completely another when I got there. Scammed me out of 30 pounds. AVOID!

great hostel

this is a well run and well equipped hostel. it was clean and the bathroom and kitchen facilities were very good and clean. There were many helpful touches like shelving and hooks in shower for personal items, mirror in dorm room. Kitchen was v well equipped and in good condition too.
