Good value, great staff, fab location

I was doing a gig at the Penrith Playhouse and wanted somewhere close by for myself, partner and dog so we could explore the lakes the next day. Well what a find the station was! Literally across the road from the playhouse, next door to Penrith castle, opposite the train station and central to the market square! Perfect! When we arrived it was an easy check in, the room (despite being a tiny bit dated, which I have no problem with) was spacious, plenty of tea and coffee, a comfortable bed and a hot shower. When I got back late with another comedian (who was travelling by bus at 1am in the morning), the staff served us graciously as residents, then allowed us to continue chatting once the bar was locked up so my friend didn’t have to sit in the 24hour McDonalds. The next morning we were served promptly for breakfast and it was plentiful. Fresh juices, cereals and a full English (choice of small, large or veggie). The bacon and sausages were of high quality and extra toast was provided with a smile. Honestly this is such a good value hotel, if you want a gateway stop over to the lakes, you won’t find a better budget place to stay. Thank you

Steak night

Called in tonight for steak night. Two steaks for £20 including a pint or a wine.steak was perfect. Not sure about the price as we were charged £28 ... but the meal itself was perfect

Is this the best value Sunday Lunch in Penrith ?

First time in here since management change.
Paid £9.95 for Sunday lunch .Yes £9.95 for a lamb roast dinner.All fresh veg ,decent meat portion and very tasty gravy.
Too full to get a dessert but £4.50 for a crumble on offer.
I live local and will be back to try the rest of the week menu .
Give them a try.Scored top marks on food hygiene rating which is always reassuring.
Too many food offers in Penrith charge prices as if Penrith is in the Lake District.Well it is not .
A good quality Sunday Lunch at a great price.You deserve to be a lot busier .

Amazing Sunday lunch

Stoped in for a Sunday lunch.food was amazing.staff were friendly and helpful. Left with a full belly.will 100% be going back again
