Amazing food

Just had the fillet steak, possibly the best I’ve ever had!!!! Strongly recommend trying the food here. Staff are spot on too

Sunday Cottage in St Just

Sunday Cottage was a great, dog friendly accommodation. Part of Cape Cornwall Club. Booked with Booking.com and there was firstly not clear that the garden was not private but shared with the owner. This was a shame as their dog also walked in the garden and did his / her need there. Unfortunately, St Just itself was not as dog friendly as the accommodation itself. Nowhere a lawn where the dog can do his/her needs. Was really looking for an outlet. Outside St Just, on the other hand, there is a lot to see and do. Beautiful beaches and beautiful coastline.
Then the accommodation, which we found not very clean. Bathroom downstairs was still dirty, (mud) footprints in the shower. There were hairs in the cups on the coffee/tea tray. And the pots and pans are very much in need of replacement. Very nasty. Also, while showering, both downstairs and above everything gets wet. The stairs were hairy. We couldn't enter the house until 4pm because there was cleaning because of previous holidaymakers.. however I wonder if not only the beds were made because there was still sand everywhere.

Much too wild

As previously described, the golf club is divided into the front and back 9 holes. The first 9 consist of three very simple holes. These run directly next to each other without any kind of separation between them. Six holes run down to the sea and back accordingly. These holes are hardly playable. There are too many blind shots, too few escape routes, and the slopes are quite challenging.
The back 9 are the opposite. On three holes, there are beautiful views of the sea. The other six holes run almost exclusively side by side without any separation. There are virtually no fish or trees. With one exception, the holes are rather simple.

Disappointing in so many ways

I stayed here for a week as part of an organized walking holiday, in one of the new bedrooms which are separate from the main building. On the plus side: the bed was large and comfortable (very firm, which I like) with good quality bedding; the location is great; most of the staff were lovely; the coffee (from a machine) was good quality and strong. But there were so many minuses. The shower didn't work properly - wildly varying temperature and feeble water flow which dwindled to a trickle. This happened for all four of us in the new bedrooms. Food was acceptable about 20% of the time, very poor breakfasts and packed lunches, and massively overpriced. Especially grim if you're vegan (like me and my friend). We sent suggestions beforehand which were ignored. Room service was erratic, it only seemed to happen every other day and failed on basics like replenishing tea bags. Info on how to connect to WiFi in room was incorrect, which meant braving rain and wind to get to reception to ask for it. No instructions on how to use the heater in the room. No hair dryers in rooms, you have to request one (which was like stepping back in time). The swimming pool is tiny (11m) and the sauna was never really hot.
I rarely write such a negative review but I was really shocked and disappointed at how poor this place was on many levels. It might work if you love golf and don't care much for good food. But otherwise I would avoid like the plague.
