Very helpful owners - leant us an extension for the electrics. Showers and toilets very clean - showers lovely and hot.

The showers and toilets were very clean and showers lovely and hot. Didn’t need coins for showers. Washing up sinks - again with hot water. Friendly site on a working farm so important to respect the working owners. Hard standing for caravans and field for tents. Would’ve like to have staid longer.

Reasonable place ..but..!

Stayed at this place in the summer of 2024. Facilities were ok and the place seemed to be reasonably well-maintained. Quite well situated for visiting other parts of Cumbria.
Owners were pleasant but as we discovered that they were active hosts and supporters of the local fox hunt we will definitely not be returning anytime soon and would advise others to do the same.

The best campsite I’ve ever been to! - not a bad word to say

I’ll start by saying, please do ignore that one review some utter moron has left (there’s always one) slandering this beautiful place, and the beautiful family that run it!
Myself, my friends and my dog have never felt so welcomed at a campsite! Nothing was too much trouble, Christine looked after us and make sure our stay was perfect. Her stone baked pizzas are a perfect touch, and when we ran out of booze, she had us covered!
My dog (very well trained) was off the lead the majority of the time, enjoying the site just as much as we did! Extremely homely and friendly vibe, we laughed and made friends with other guests on site, who all shared the same opinion, on how amazing the site is.
Situated in a perfect location, far away from the hussle and bussle of the busy towns, but also close enough to jump in a car and drive to the likes of keswick for the day, which we did!
We will 100% be back and have recommended this site to all of our friends and family!
Clean, perfect amenities, great location, great owners.

We love Christine!! Amazing campsite!!

Camping
Myself, 4 friends and our dog spent the night at Howbeck lodge in the Bella Ball tent (teepee) and wow what a night. From start to finish Christine went ABOVE and BEYOND. All fasciitis were exceptional, clean and everything you need was right there. The teepee is amazing if you don’t have a tent and want a night away. The outdoor shower is an absolute touch, the main shower block and toilets were clean, warm and accommodating. The upstairs to the toilet and showers included games and books for children to borrow whilst visiting, electricity, fridge and freezer for your items, cutlery and much more. The following morning Christine and her daughter came down to give us a fare well. The camp site has animals such as horses, llamas, petting zoo for the rabbits and much more. Christine offered us the chance to help move her llamas, in which we were thrilled to help and loved this experience. Overall, not a fault in place.

Christine, thank you again, what a host, what a women, we will be back again!! Your pizzas and service was second to none, we couldn’t have had a better time. Thank you so so much, please support Christine and her business! It’s more than a business to her.

Overall disappointing, dirty and disgraceful owner

Completely disappointed in my stay. Arrived to a lack of facilities there was one shared toilet with 4 showers which make using the bathroom a nightmare as the place was fairly busy. The toilet and the showers where disgusting as well and also noticed the bathroom sink wasn't even piped out it just fell through the drain onto the floor to go down another drain which is disgusting especially in a shared facility. There was also no Wi-Fi available at all despite being advertised on the ad. The barbeque which was an additional fee to use was not cleaned before being given to us to use to cook with. there is also the fridge and freezer which are shared this means nothing you put in them is safe which we learnt when a bottle of baileys we left in the fridge was stolen by another guest. Then there's the owner who is completely unprofessional as after our departure we received a text about the rubbish we left which was all in bin bags out the front of the tent as we were unable to find the bins onsite they have then found three other bags of rubbish we apparently left there want any and is bragging in a text of how they going to use that to get more money from us. Defiantly avoid this place as you'll have a horrible stay then be fleeced for more money.
