September 3 Day Stay

Nice hotel, rooms modern and clean with all the necessary basics, large restaurant with buffet type layout. Breakfast was really good with a good choice of both cooked or continental, staff helpful and welcoming .

Friendly staff, lovely rooms. Amazing breakfast. It is nice to have your eggs freshly cooked and to have the choice of uncut crusty bread at breakfast

We stayed in one of the King Suites and the room was decent, good size and good range of facilities like a Nespresso coffee machine.
As others have mentioned, you can hear the noise from both inside and outside. Parking is also a bit of a nightmare (in York generally). We found arriving closer to 6pm for St. George Fields car park was the better option but just keep an eye on the canal levels as it can flood. £23 for 24hrs and only a 5 minute walk away.
It's an average hotel, would probably try other options in future.

On the up side the staff were excellent, friendly and helpful. The hotels in a great location. The room was clean.
However, we put a score of 4, but it’s actually more like 3.5/5. The bathroom was dated and needed upgrading with signs of damp. The shower wasn’t good and it was leaking. Ventilation was not good in the bathroom. The mattress was average and would have expected memory foam these days as standard. The room they gave us was right above the underground garage entrance which meant we heard the electric garage door open and close at all hours. We also paid extra for that room to look onto the tower, which isn’t worth it. Breakfast isn’t worth paying for and was look warm at best. I’d advise eating out as there is a plentiful range of places to eat (cafes/bars/restaurants) around that area. There was no fridge in the room which during the summer and heat is essential. Air con was good.
