Traditional Hotel with a View of the Castle

Traditional hotel in an old building on the bank of the Vltava river with a view of the castle. Nice and large rooms with comfortable beds. Breakfast fresh and plentiful, if you want other meals, there is a restaurant on the groundfloor. Nice place to stay for a day or two when you plan to do some sightseeing in Southern Bohemia (and there is quite a lot to see nearby!)

Hotel Ruze

A nice old hotel, a bit old. Our room was small but adequate. In the bathroom you have to run the water for a long time before it gets warm, the bathroom taps could be replaced. The reception is temporarily staffed but always available. What bothered us was that the associated gastronomy had closed, both the terrace outside was deserted and inside (except for breakfast). Here you felt a bit alone overall.
Breakfast was small but okay. You could have fresh egg dishes prepared.

Loud working noises from 4am

Nice hotel. Price okay. Friendly staff.
Breakfast unfortunately only the cheapest of the cheap (ready eggs, toasted ham, depreziner,...).
On our second night we started working in a room that was signposted as "Private" at 4am!
It sounded like a room was being renovated. Loud hammering, moving furniture and very loud polishing as if clearing boxes of tiles around with men's voices. This went on for about 2 hours. Then a half-hour break and at 6:30 the same again. Through the old walls this could be heard throughout the house. We had the room upstairs and it was very noisy. So, unfortunately, no recommendation.

Not recommended

A hotel that does not make me happy, pillows that are not filled and a duvet that was turned upside down on the bed.
The bath is a nice addition, but there is nowhere to take a normal shower if you don't want or can't take a bath
The breakfast was poor, flies in the milk and fruit that has been there for days, I really don't recommend it!

Terrace lunch

We had a wonderful terrace lunch yesterday.The weather was perfect and the views of the surrounding countryside and river were lovely.Our waiter Raul was very helpful and gave us excellent suggestions for food and drink.Altogether an excellent visit
