Places like Vila Castelul Maria are a rarity in our time.
In these premises, every detail counts, stylishly furnished spaces, fresh flowers and candlelight, old porcelain and divine dishes discreetly complete the stay. Above all, discretion and quality come first!
The food is excellent, the ingredients are top-notch, and the salami, as well as other delicacies, are homemade. Everything is fresh and is served particularly beautifully and lovingly.
And then the garden! A gift from nature, lovingly and carefully maintained, which we enjoyed with gratitude. We were fortunate to find peonies, roses, and sage in bloom, and in the back of the garden awaited the cherry trees, simply divine.
The hosts themselves are charming and anticipate your every wish.
Surrounding the area, there are many destinations for excursions into the wild and beautiful Transylvania.
We were overwhelmed by this place of tranquility, good taste, and hospitality.

Good location to relax , great garden , helpfull staff
Good location and a nice retreat if you seek peace and quiet , helpfull and friendly staff . You can arrange for breakfast and dinner . The garden is great .
There are things that can be improved but this is true for any place .
The area itself is nice and quiet with a few tourist destinations nearby .

Nice place, heaven for cat persons
The place is retreated and nice, as well as very home-y. There were some issues at the dinner we had, but I would like to thing the delay of 3+ hour on our dessert was a one time thing. We got it the next day for on the go
Other than that, room was nice and cats adorable!
Probably not great place if you own a dog, but heaven for a cat person.

A GEM IN THE COUNTRYSIDE
Looking for a place where to get together and celebrate in Romania our wedding anniversary, we came across Vila Castelul Maria. Since we were a large group, we lodged in Casa Maria, an inn with seven rooms and a lounge. Casa Maria is part of the property and it is located approximately 800m from the main house, Castelul Maria.
It was the perfect location! Cozy and homey with nicely decorated rooms, each one different. There is a lot of attention to the interior design. Outside there is a beautiful garden with a hidden paths and romantic alcoves.
The hotel staff is very friendly, ready to help and to make your stay a memorable one.
The food is excellent, freshly prepared and using local produce.
Special thanks to Armella, who greeted us with a pleasant smile and soft manners; Also, thanks to Luminita, the manager, who went far and beyond to fulfill our expectations; Thanks to Tanti Camelia as well who prepared delicious meals for us and our guests and, last but not least, thanks to Carlo always attentive of our needs.
When returning to Romania, a stay in Castelul Maria will be on our list.

Horror night
Unfortunately, I cannot recommend Casa Maria, which is part of Maria Castle. I had a bad night here, perhaps the worst of the last 20 years of walking around the country.
We called before arriving at Casa Maria to ask the hosts to give us warmth. They promised that at 7 pm, when we arrive, there will be heat in the rooms. It was not like that. The radiators were cold. After reminding them of our request, they promised that when we returned from the table we would be warm. Here they were right, when we returned it was hot.
The bathroom window was open. We closed it before we went to bed because it was already cold outside and it was going to be around 10 degrees Celsius. Shortly after I closed the window, in the bathroom and then in the room, I began to smell a terrible odor coming from the sewer. Because it was cold outside and we were going to take a shower in the morning, I left the window closed in the bathroom but I couldn't sleep at all until the morning because of the smell.
By 9 o'clock in the morning, I had already called 15 times on both numbers on the site (mobile and landline) without anyone answering us. When we finally managed to talk, Mrs. Luminița told me that from time to time there is a smell from the sewer but that she has nothing to do because she does not know on what days the smell appears. He can't offer us another room even though all the rooms were vacated that morning.
I talked to the other people staying and I found out from them that the smell could be felt in other rooms, but not so strong. So it's a general problem of Casa Maria.
So, we paid over 300 lei for a night in which we did not sleep at all and we had to look for other accommodation on our own.
No sign of empathy or help in this direction from the House of Mary.
If you somehow desperately need help and have no other accommodation option, please check room number 6. That's the unbearable smell.
And be careful, Casa Maria does not have 4 stars, in my opinion, until its sewer system is repaired, it should not even exist on the map of Romanian tourism.
The only good point was the breakfast. But that doesn't make me forget the worst experience in Romanian tourism.

where does this word come from and how does it come from? how does it come to dominate and blind us?
it is horror when one of the senses is disturbed and it annihilates any saving action, even a simple gesture to close the door and open the bathroom window ...
this is horror! when you get to find satisfaction in using the internet and several media sites to public a long story in which you only put your bad impressions knowing how well the public is attracted by the scandalit's horror! when in a quiet atmosphere where people want to have breakfast, you complain about the negative things you feel and try to get everyone's consentit is truly horror when you completely ignore the feelings of those who serve you and put all the love and passion into what they do for you ,when you treat them like moving objects that have to listen to your insulting words knowing that their common sense will make them shut up
it's horror when you don't keep your commitments and you think it's normal to expect the others to do the same, to cancel a reservation at the last minute, not to pay penalties , to ask for a one-night discount, and not to be satisfied with the discount of 15% you received
it's horror that this pandemic situation, stress, media ... have darkened our minds so much that we can no longer open our eyes, heart and mind to seek the truth, beauty , love and compassion these are the values that can save us. Let' s do it ! Pentru ca Somnul Ratiunii naste monștri! And this is horror
